This is one of two possible scenes, the other is just after they find the tin man and you can see something in the back that looks like a haning, its actually a bird. In this scene I myself just think its a munchkin swaying back and forth like all the others, the "rope" at the top is just a peculiar munchkin hat that goes up beyond the frame. If she was actually hanging herself the swaying would be more fluid, or more violent. Depending on when it happened.

comedicgenius2, there was no suicide attempt in the making of the 1939 the wizard of oz. the part where the munchkin "hung" itself is a myth. that was really a bird its the same in the blecka nd white version just the colored one looks different because of the color!!! duh! they rented them from the zoo and they were nooses. and the other part of the trees where the brid is, its a crane! thats y it looks like a rope itz not there were no suicidal attempts in the making of this original movie

The suicide isn't even on this part. And you can clearly see that this so called "Anne Winderson" is moving freely on her own, with no nuce. She is clearly dancing. And the hanging part is on the part where Dorothy, The Tinman, and the Scarecrow are singing "We're Off To See The Wizard" And even then, I'm not convinced it's a real suicide. It looks like an ostrich.

This is one of two possible scenes, the other is just after they find the tin man and you can see something in the back that looks like a haning, its actually a bird. In this scene I myself just think its a munchkin swaying back and forth like all the others, the "rope" at the top is just a peculiar munchkin hat that goes up beyond the frame. If she was actually hanging herself the swaying would be more fluid, or more violent. Depending on when it happened.

Yes that is the scene..the other scene is a bird...watch it! pay attention to the bird in the background..what looks like a hanging is the bird...this is the real scene...all the munchkins were in character and didnt notice it in a special edition of the wizard of oz it is released that this is where the hanging took place and it wasnt a hanging on purpose it was an accident...and u can tell by the swinging that theres no was there could be that fluent of a movement with their feet
