Tom Barasso is an asshole. When I was a little kid a friends dad took us to a golf tournament and we recognized Tom Barasso. We asked him for his autograph and he replied, " I don't do autographs" . Terrible attitude and

Lots of penguins players didn't want to do them for a while because card shop owners would show up and try to have them sign 5-10 cards and would turn around and sell them. Whats really fucked up is that the media has influence and helps on the Hall Of Fame voting, and because of this, he will probably never be voted to be in the Hall, and he's a hall of famer for more than sure.

Barrasso was known as one of the biggest jerks in the league, and there's a reason why the media didn't like him. He nearly make his backups fear for their lives by being so miserable to them, and was punched out of Buffalo because of his grating personality and iffy play. The last straw in Pittsburgh was when he threw a chair at J.S. Aubin during a team meeting, and soon was traded to Ottawa. After the Sens were knocked out by Toronto in 2000, he failed to show up for the final team meeting.

His statement in this interview may be twelve or so years old but it rings just as true today. There appears to be little accountability in the media. Doctors, nurses or engineers are held accountable by their respective professional organization. Does anyone know if editors, writers or broadcasters are held accountable for their conduct? As the news business completes it's evolution into entertainment content I fear that the useless, sensationalistic tripe they spew will only get worse.

Every althlete has a bad record on them, there are not to many top spot superstars that haven't done something bad, For instance Parick Roy apprently hit his wife,he was arrested but no charges were placed, no one asked questions about that, besides there have been worse cases than what Barasso went through at least he not thinking just about himself.
