I am in fact a recipient of the adult stem cell transplant and have regained tremendous results from the procedure. I am an incomplete paraplegic and it has been 8 years since my accident. a year ago I ahd the procedure done and it works. If the embrionic is so good then why are the Dr.'s who do it hiding? At the stage embryonic stem cells are harvested, embryos are minute clusters of undifferentiated stem cells. Happy as I am for this guy, I'm skeptical that injections of ESC's directly to his spinal cord are what led to his improvement. Typically, you inject an ESC into the spinal cord, and a tumor develops. ESC's aren't by themselves functional in a way that are helpful to SCI's - they have to turn into something else (such as a schwann cell).

More likely, the powers of the mind are what helped this guy reach recovery. Maybe some Anthony Robbins tapes helped the process :)

And if you take the time to research, you will find that it was President Bush that allowed funding for stem cell research. If you don't believe me, then research it yourself. Also, while you're researching, look-up the Dickey Amendment and read why it was written and it's contents.
