This happened to me today... I am swedish... living in sweden and I am in Sweden... someone just used my card (I have it with me) and took out money from an ATM a few times in Chicago united states... I have never been in the states... so my card has now been canseled and my bank will probably give me my money back (as a loan until they have investigated this). Someone probably made a copy of my card and used it... it is kind of scary!
some moron last night obtained my credit card number and charged over 600 bux to itunes on it. bank called me this morning and took charges off, canceled my card and are turning case over to fraud department. what an idiot. hope the felony theft charge was worth a few songs.
Hey man, the person who stole your credit card probably used a software prograeme called credit card hacker v.10 beta or one of those prograemes they download off the internet free they put the credit card info in and then they can change it by fillin out a form and then clicking reform the credit card or something like that
I know how you feel and I understand how it feels to be robbed and like my father anybody steals from our accounts and credit, debit, check, or gift cards WE WILL HAVE THEM KILLED cause were not just tough men were Bloomfield tough men with big BALLS the size of tennis balls and rock backs of running backs, one wide reciver brian mueller the 3rd, and me the line backer 213 lbs of anger as self defence
Your my man thank you for being brave and i have a chase visa debit card which is much safer than credit bank loans, I'm still 17 my birthday is 3/14/92 9:53 am. and sorry you were robbed and no I'm from Bloomfield New Jersey area code 973
but no I did not steal your money from your bank loan on the card
@wacqui It just happened to my mom. They charged over $300 of clothing and shoes. At least the dumbass will be caught. She cut up and threw out the credit cards and will be given a new account/card. All they gotta do is launch an investigation after she signs off a sheet saying a fraud made the charges. They'll just look at the websites the stuff were purchased from and look up the address that they websites shipped to.
There is a big article on Wall Street Journal today that Heartland Payment Center had a major breach. They deal with over 200,000 merchants. Millions of numbers have been stolen. I don't know if that is how my info was stolen, but I totally understand how you feel. I still don't get it.
I have a Visa debit card, so I had to make a police report so I can try to get my money back. I am mad as hell and in a fog. I had no idea someone could steal our numbers and make a counterfeit card. I will be making the majority of my transactions with cash now.
Bro find urself lucky that it was only your credit card that was cloned. If they had opened bank accounts and tooken out loans..u would of been F**ced
I am from a fraud dectection agentcy there are many ways they can get your information, as you were saying about the resteraunts, they have card readers that they swipe your card through and you wouldnt be the wiser. Also online transaction could do it aswell. I review transactions with people and youd be surpirzed how many peopple get fraud. someone plobably got your number made a fake card and started charging. theres a devise that lets you clear out a cards number and put in your #.
If you were at a resturant, they might have took your credit card and scanned it with a stealer. Then copied the info onto a fake card. It's a scam. The scam is called Card Cloning.
thats real wierd.... my brothers credit card info was stolen also exept he still had his card...someone stole his info and put it in a new card like a duplicate...so it was the thiefs card but my brothers id wierd O_o
I sympathize. I too called my bank yesterday about a charge I know I didn't make and they closed my account, ect. I've had this account for over 20 years. All today's technology does is make things easier for the crooks and complicated for the unsuspecting victims. Like anything else, the numbness wears off and you go back to living your life again and try not to think of all the security leaks of life... there's too many you find.
For the most part. I had to stop by the branch and provide my signature about 10 different times and fill out a bunch of paperwork. The charges were removed from my account now. Now I am just nervous about any autopay bills that still might charge the old credit card that I hadn't considered.
Makes you feel ANY better, a girl at a Sprint store used MY Social to create a line of service for HERSELF after she was terminated for doing the same thing to other people...I found this out last week... Funny thing, this girl RAN my credit TWO YEARS AGO!!!! How does someone keep a social security number in a system THAT LONG?
Sorry to hear all this, dude. A few years back, my wife's checkbook was stolen and it was months of disputing each check as it was spent, and we even got sued by one merchant who refused to believe it was a stolen check. What a nightmare. Good luck!
In 2000, my credit card co. called and said my card had been used for checking into a hotel in Hong Kong and purchases in a jewellry store there. Apparantly I had been scammed at an airport in Vancouver, Canada as people at the airport were swiping cards for the information illegally. It just sucks, doesn't it.

Tell the bank to stop all credit cards even the one you use at the moment. Then must do this as you suspect your information has been stolen.
Get your pin changed from both the card and your online account.
ask them to change the account number attached to the card if there is a one.
Take all precautions.
and good look.
jamesrap123 5 years ago
