'Helen couldn't sing well live'?? 1. Yes she could. 2. Since when does that matter? Could Bob Dylan sing? Could Kurt Cobain? Moler were brilliant, so many great songs from beginning (Blue Shades) to end. But it was a time when JJJ was overlooking many excellent Australian bands and playing Micheal Tunn and Arnold Frollowes' 'favourites' on ultra-high rotation. I only heard Red Light Disco on the Js ever. Criminally under-rated.
Nice to see you all again. The Helcat was and always will be awesome live but when your in a studio environment with no control over feedback from the monitors then shit happens sometimes. Every live gig I was at rocked ,I should know, I was their road and lighting manager.
As much as Matt was a great keyboard player , Moler was a seminal 3 piece of the 90'smusic scene in Oz
Aww, man I love these guys. I have a blue colour vinyl of MOLAR and it came with a t-shirt transfer..all for $4...they didn't get the recognition they deserved.
i think the song dates from either 98 or 99. Terrific song, bought the CD single when it was released. Red light disco was great too, wonder where they are now? Another good band that deserved to be huge but wasn't!
anybody have the mp3 for this song? could u guys please share
thx before

@BigJulieWasDead Never! I will not rest until they are strung up by their ankles from an Ultimo lamp-post! Let the revolutionary tribunal speak!

@lllordllloyd Look, now that you mention it, you do make a good case.

I agree with 96kilohertz. I only saw them live once, but I prefered the CD.

Does anyone know Helcat's whereabouts today?
What was the name of their first clip, where Helen had blonde hair and performed in a train carriage?
usfansw 2 years ago
@usfansw Was it Shopping Trolley? Wasn't that their first EP/ single?

So good! Does anyone have them doing Shopping Trolley on Recovery? I'd love to see that again.
