My mother's father courted my grandma on a 1910 Indian (with sidecar) that looked quite a lot like this one, although the sidecar was on the other side. And this was in MONTANA, where nearly all the roads were gravel at best. What an absolute treat to see and hear this motorcycle run. (Don must be right when he says the bike had sex appeal, because my grandma was only sixteen when she married her motorcycling Welshman.
Does anyone know where blueprints for one of these 1915 indians can be located? I'm looking for prints on everything from the engine to the sidecart let me know, thanks.
The Ford Model T had a front mounted, 177 in3 (2.9 L)(2900cc) four-cylinde. So 1000cc was nothing in that period because the engine tecnology was ancient.
i'm not really sure if i would want to wield a colt 45 or smith and wesson 38 one-handed and on the move. must have been interesting to try it.

Women approach the motorbike because they are sure some 20 something year old will not come out and be a douche.

It looks very non-threatening. That is why women like it. It looks like a bike a stuffed teddy bear would ride.
