  • amazing!

  • SHIT

  • Thanks!!

  • Its my daughter's choir, she said to try Aaron Coates.

  • Doesn't someone out there know who the original artist on this was or is? I've looked on YouTube for the artist and all it's led to is frustration. I thought at first that it might be Richard Smallwood but I'm not so sure now. Please, someone out find out for me.

  • @queenblanche I think its by Handel

  • @campusqueen57 Yeah, I know that the original version was done by Handel but I'm talking about the contemporary version that was done by your choir here. The one by BHS .

  • @queenblanche : Of course the original is from Handel's Messiah but this version is adapted from Quincy Jones " A Soulful Celebration"

  • @debros65 Thanks for the information. And now, if it is at all possible would you or someone out there please upload or post the version of this song from Quincy Jones "A Soulful Collection". I will be most greatful.

  • @queenblanche This is arranged by Mervyn Warren on a recording called "A soulful celebration". The original artists are Richard Smallwood Singers, Take 6, Andrae Crouch, Edvin Hawkins, Larnelle Harris, Al Jarreau, Chaka Khan and several others. Some choir... The CD is a gospel version of some of the songs from Händels Messiah. One of the best CD's I have in my collection :)

  • They sound great ! God! I heard this on the radio yesterday, and I've been trying to call my local radio station to find out who was singing this! What a song !

  • Luar biasa ! ( great !)

  • FYI, this is Quincy Jones' version and is on an album called A Soulful Celebration.

You can go to sheetmusic plus to download sheetmusic.

  • @evrmre Go to sheetmusic plus and search for 'hallelujah from handel's messiah: a soulful celebration'. This is Quincy Jones' version from the early 90's.

  • @evrmre Yep--I sang this arrangement in high school. If you google Hallelujah Chorus: A Soulful Celebration, you should be able to find it.

  • @evrmre It's on a CD called Handel's Messiah: A Soulful Celebration.... you can find it at any music store that sell contemporary gospel music... especially around the holidays... you can also get on on iTunes.... this arrangement is almost 20yrs old

  • This choir is very sharp. You can tell what they are saying.

    Love it.

  • the choir was excellent and the soloist did a fine job

  • They worked it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i personally think that this was wonderful!!!! im a black guy who doesnt see color when i see music.... black white or purple this choir was great!!!!!! good job!!

  • My school's singing groups are singing it in december. Three groupss. It's going to be fun trying those harmonies

  • Have fun performing!

  • awesome job- you all did a wonderful job!

  • It was ok. I like the classical version better. The gospel bit was good though. btw I go to their school.

  • This is a great arrangement. It reminds me of the one on the radio that's played a lot -- Handel's Messiah - a Soulful Celebration. It always gets me in the holiday spirit when I hear it. :>

  • that's the same arrangement. it is indeed a great piece

  • I think this is absolutely fantastic, I haven't heard this arrangement before, it's not very often that white people can nail the sing/shout style of black choirs, and nary a AF-AM here to give them a clue. Very well done!

  • I am going to sing this song during my 7and 8 grade winter chorus program. It is so hard, but I love the feeling and the mood of the song. It is one of my favorite songs to sing on chorus.

  • we are performing this song with the Burbank High School Choir Symphony Orchestra Combined With The Choir =]

  • okay not too bad. a little too white for me, but you all had your parts nailed on the head. i love this version of the Hallelujah Chorus!

  • Given the spirit of these people I am sure they have enough love to forgive you of your racism.

  • i don't think i was being racist at all. my choir does this song too. it just could use some soul. sorry if i offended you. i didn't mean to.

  • was racist i know

it does need some more soul

  • do u happen to kno who sings this song?

  • execellent!

  • i love this song. i love gospel.

  • Oh my goodness this was good. It even made me come in gospel mood despite the "white way of singing"

  • @jannizz ja dey did a good job XD

  • where can i get the partiture?

  • NICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It is the last of May and this still sounds good and I can't wait until the holidays to play it again.

  • WOO MALLORY.!
