  • why would the car batteery be flat ? why wouldnt you just take it out the car and charge it inside?

  • What model is the charge controller? Does it allow the load to be powered by the panel without a battery? If not, do you know a device that will do this? I have searched but only found stabilizers for cars.

  • Hi John,

    Yes you can charge the battery simultaneously from the solar panel and from another source. Charge controllers are typically used in caravans and canal boats where this happens regularly.

    A 120W panel should give up to 10A into a 12V system in good sunlight so it should help a bit.

  • Can you charge car battery with the panel and charge control hooked up while the car was running? If my audio amp drains the battery fast i wonder if my 120 w panel will make any difference. Of course i would get the correct current rating for the charge control. Regards, john
