  • I'm trying to find a video on the shredded, braided, fringed, jersey eternity scarf. Can you help me with this one?

  • i just made the second scarf, only took me 10 minutes with the machine (:

  • I think her eyebrows are dreadful - make her look like a clown! Shame because she is a pretty girl and does not need to paint her face in this way.

  • Really keen to have a go at making this...thanks so much...yeh after the book too :-)

  • I really want those's books!!!!!

  • i love Megan! She's so sweet!

  • Just made the fringe scarf. I used an argyle/houndstooth screen tee and it looks HOT! Thank you Megan!

  • i love these!! i am going to make these and wear them for summer!!! thanks..^^

  • THANKS A BUNCH!!!

  • I love your creative ideas. I totally want to buy your book! I didn't realize you had a second book... I'll keep an eye out for them TY!

  • aaww. you looked pretty with short hair.

  • she has a really big smile

  • Thank you so much! I saw the video, with you wearing the scarf, just a few seconds ago and I love it. :D

  • Those scissors are AMAZING!!! Where did you get them?

  • i love her eyebrows

  • fuuuuuuuk check out her eye brows

  • @mobstare3 lmaooooo big eyebrows are in

  • I made a yellow fringe scarf and it looks FANTABULOUS!! Thank you so much threadbanger!

    *snip snip snip*

  • @yellowdemini the book is called generation t beyond fashion, and her other book is called generation t 108 ways how to transform your t shirt.

  • heymiau piep wer hat mich lieb , bin so einsam heute , jmand lust zu chilln

  • the first scarf would make a rockin' hula skirt. :)

  • LURVE IT <3 i wanna get her book!!!! :D

  • ahh i made loop tee looop and its so cute:)

  • i love wearing t-shirts!

  • Excellent. I love your very very practical ideas. Happy new year. Greetings from Ecuador.

  • Somebody needs to come up with a way to shave her eyebrows with a T-shirt

  • You guys have such fun projects. I -tried- the knitted hat from an older review without luck even though she made it look so easy.. Will have to give it another go soon. Oh and I read that book with 108 ways. Lots of fun stuff.

  • All very cute, though I don't see them doing any good against a new york winter. That said, i do a lot of costume work, and that first one could be a great bit!

  • but o.o....ur wasting a perfectly good tshirt.... it would b cheaper 2 just make it out of fabric, but very creative none the less

  • @nella15 I chop up t-shirts that I find at discount stores and other resale or whole sale places.

Most of the time when you look at the price of t-shirt fabric which has the stretch for some of the projects (especially ones that deal with fringe like that!) and then compare to the same amount of fabric, it's often cheaper to get the shirt over the fabric.

  • @XxTrinityInfinityxX Also, if you've ever won a shirt from a contest, their usually the largest sized men's T-shirts possible. Very inconvenient for a girl. xD

  • Oh I know how that is and for me who has sort of a weird body shape even baby doll t-shirts don't fit right if they're not the right size, that also gets me some material

  • hey long time viewer first time commentor?! um, so i have a dog, a bit young and its a bit chilly outside for him to walk, any ideas to mod my clothes to fit him or ideas for puppy clothes, puppy booties, something to keep him a tad bit warm and stylish? maybe this is the wrong place to ask. well if its not it would be cool to see something for the furry friends. thanks

    ps. corinne is very pretty!!!

  • The great thing about Tshirt is that you can decorate the strips with suitable sized beads, simply pushed up the length of it.. or knot it etc... That fringe could look really funky, loaded with beads!

  • meee-gan... fsr

  • ahh i think im going to make a few loop-tee-loop scarves tonightt:D thanks threadbanger i love all your projects!

  • or...you could fold the fabric a few times and cut multiple layers

  • i just made a fringe scarf and im doing the loop-tea-loop.. please make a how to on what to use the tops of the cut shirts! i have so many!

  • If you like scarves this much then why not make a patchwork one? cut squares (say two to 4 inches) and sew and invert doubles so you have patches that are right sided on both sides and then quilt them together in a long strip.

mix it up by using other shapes, varying shape size or filling the patches to thicken the scarf and make it a bit warmer.

  • @revalation71: I made a homemade dressform out of an oversized t-shirt and duct tape. I stuffed it full with the "tops" of t-shirts from Megan's projects as well as regular scraps.

  • Brill....loved it!!

  • Awesome video! I like the look of the fringe scarf, but there is wayyy to much cutting

  • I got the beyond fashion book. It is awsome. At first I was afraid it was going to be 120 ways to make a tank top or halter top but found out it has everything from toilet seat covers, to car steering wheel covers to scarves, shrugs. Good buy if you are into reconstructing old clothes.

  • we use to do that in the 80s'

  • Finally... an awesome video!!

  • This is the ep I was waiting for... Thanks so much!!

    Really great ideas!!!

  • New Hampshire sticker on the sewing machine case!

    wooot.

    represent

  • her eye brows make her look like a man

  • no they don't

  • phazon360: That makes sense. I could see doing it with fleece because it seems to me that t-shirt fabric would be way too thin. I live in a very cold area though.

  • AWESOME SCISSORS!!!!

  • great idea

i have so many t-shirts to throw and i changed my mind on that subject

    thanks

  • megan looks so cute with long hair!

  • She reminds me of Emma Watson :)

    I like her.

  • Megan, you are the coolest!

  • Threadbanger, Please show us how to take tank tops and transform them into other things.!.

  • I made a normal scarf (from inspiration of this video) from an old jacket. It's a normal scarf with the frayed edges :) wee!

  • Shut up everyone. She is cute, and her brother is one of the most talented musicians in NYC right now.

  • Guess what sugarface - this video is about t-shirts and scarves, NOT eyebrows!

  • ummm so what, they stick out like crazy......

  • aqgreed

  • If you did a scarf like that from a green t-shirt it would look like you have Cthulhu wrapped around your throat.

  • teehee... might do it with a green one especially for that effect! :o)

  • thats a weird scarve. i tried it and it made my whole tshirt look weird i went and bought one at target.

  • i think her eyebrows are hot

  • I would love to have those eyebrows!

  • A1 sauce.

  • Neat ideas, though my favourite scarf from t-shirts is one that I made last year. You take three different coloured t-shirts, cut them into strips of different widths but the length of each strip will be the width of your t-shirts (I used size small). then, you cut the tubes you've made into rectangles and then sew different strips together to make a striped scarf.

  • hahahah I saw the flames on her scissors and I thought of Dr.House saying "they make me look like I'm going fast."

her eyebrows are so well groomed, why couldn't she cut them down to size with those skills! augh.

  • Goooo dawgs!

  • oh my god, some people are just weird. why are you on about her eyebrows? they look nice and different, it's not necessary to have thin eyebrows to look good. it's all individual.

  • omg ...sooo cool ;)

merry x-mas and funky new year from estonia!!!

  • haha,,,agreed so thick eyebrws

  • her eyebrows are ridonkculous

  • @Fafinettex3faan LOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • this is awesom!! ur so talented. i want to try this

  • Pretty cool but we Canadians need some cozy warm tutorials PLEASE!

  • @killersofa I agree, us Canadians need warmer clothes

...I was thinking personally, maybe seeing if a old sweatshirt would work...would be slightly warmer... :D

  • well, thats just hideous

  • Right after seeing this, I pulled out an old shirt and made the mane-iac scarf. It is now my favorite thing ever! I'm so ordering her book; I've been wanting to learn how to reuse my old clothes.

  • This is so awesome! Cool Scarves! ^-^

  • It can be a hula skirt too.

  • thats SICK!

  • how do you make that shirt on the cover of the first generation t book

  • nice ideas!

  • guess what - you can wear tshirts in the winter wit SWEATERS and COATS. go figure.

  • I really like Megan!

  • lol, those won't keep you warm at all :P

  • u r right... in canada, the winter is so cold!:P

  • same goes for Scandinavia :P

  • ugh. I really hate these designs. D:

  • Yay for No Sew!

  • I really like this Megan character~ shes cool

  • Thank you Threadbanger and Megan!

  • I love the Generation T books, but a lot of their patterns aren't exactly figure-friendly for larger gals like me. *pout*

  • Let's write a book together that IS! :o)

  • wear what looks good on you somtimes u gotta color in between the lines somthing u think is for Skinny chicks and also be for the more rounded ones =) try!

  • Great episode, I'm going to try all of the designs!

  • if you couldn't figure this out for yourself then their is something wrong with you and im talking about the first scarf

  • There are slotted rulers in the quilting section of most fabric stores. They will help you cut the slices with your rotary cutter without going beyond the hem.

  • its not realy a scarf if it cant keep you wam

  • they're fashion scarves

  • "fashion"= impractical. anyway it would work better if made with fleece!

  • true, and fleece doesnt unravel

  • were can you guy thatbook?

  • @tessiepooh123 I found the first book at Urban Outfitters and the second (the one with all the scarf patterns) at Barnes & Noble

  • okay thanks, I ordered it off her web site :) its all good

  • hey i was wondering if you lovely people at threadbangers could make some tutorials on some guys clothing tips/tutorials for complete beginners? I wanna start but not sure where to begin. thanks guys

  • i would start simply with some accessories which i'm sure there are a ton of videos for. Beyond that I would suggest a good book (just do a search on amazon) because there's really nothing more helpful. But if you're a complete beginner, again, start simple and make sure you know basic construction before you start on a project that'll put you in over your head.

  • YES thank goodness!! ive been waiting for this!

  • I always love these videos they are my fav :D

    Thanks for coming back ^__^

  • those are badass scissors!

  • omg i know! i love all of these designs they are so easy!

  • looove it...hey guys could u do more sewing machine included stuff...please thanx

  • can u do a video on the tshirt in the back on the mannequin in the back that looks like a cute out snowflake??? PLEASE!

  • OMG this video is awesome!!!!!!!

  • lol i love the decorated scissors :P made me giggle

  • can you show us a way to use the upper half of the t-shirt? cuz it seems like a waste to just throw the top away

  • just try and be creative and do it yourself :p

  • you can make a skirt out of the top part of the shirt, cut up the sides of the seams and cut the sleeves at this angle too. stretch the head hole to fit your waist and then wear it.

  • want book soooooo badly!!!!!!

  • Now I want the book !

  • Wow, that red scarf might make a cool blood decoration for Halloween. (I'm always thinking about Halloween. Haha.)

  • T-ShiRts is The New THread

  • I'm all for DIY, but I try to avoid the (for lack of a better term) "trashy" look. Renew and reuse is great, but I think it should look great too.

  • @SushiTabbyCat This is what differentiates hobbyists and artists...you can apply the re-purpose principles to your own taste.

  • Wow! Very talented!

    Thank you so much.

  • i was so happy to find out that i got 108 ways to transform a tee for christmas great job can't wait to try it out

  • lucky!

  • love the scissor

  • wow that is amazing i never thought u could do that im for sure gonna buy the genertation - t book

  • her eyebrows are so weird

  • But they're so cute and distinctively shaped!

  • awesome! I just got the second Gen T book for christmas yesterday, along with 99 ways to cut sew and trim a t-shirt, Subversive Seamster, The Big Ass book of crafts and The Zombie Survival guide (just to shake things up a bit, lol)

  • The book is amazing so many creative things, I have it and love it

  • @dillpickleboocutie it's better than the crap you probably wear. and when you give your clothes away to 'goodwill' or 'cf', they don't use the clothes or give them away. they sell them and help people in need with A PERCENTAGE of their PROFITS. and most of the clothes are THROWN AWAY because they dont have room, esp TSHIRTS. so using them this way is more useful than you think. atleast the clothes dont end up in landfills where they dont biodegrade and sit for eternity with your evian bottles

  • you should be using a walking foot for sewing that scarf at 4:20 ish because its stretchy

  • @dillpickleboocutie a walking foot is a good aid for stretch fabric but if you use the correct needle you can sew stretch without a walking foot.

  • i am going to make everything in this episode... i LOVE tee reconstructions....

  • Awesome girl! luv u!

  • Fringe is not my thing, but that scarf was too cute not to have!! MUST MAKE SCARVES!!!! {=

  • I like DIYs for the winter. Where I live (Manitoba, Canada), we only get like, 2 months of warmth and the rest of the year is freezing. Haha

  • @imagoodemployee I complain about living in toronto, but o man i hear manitoba's really bad. but i know what you're saying, we get like june, july and august then we pull out our jackets again XD
