you need to make sure the flyer isnt too heavy. the lighter she is the higher it will go. and make sure the backspot and frontspot push up as high and hard as they can just like the bases. hope i helped(:

Honestly I have to argue with the last reply, it doesn't matter to an extent how heavy the flier is, it is how fast they can stand, along with how fast the bases can move their hands. Because I have been tossed over 20 feet and did a double back, and I am a 210 lb man (and it was also in a swimming pool lol).

Don't listen to x1xcheerstarx1x. Your bases need to use leg strength, and a lot of it. I don't have a front spot on my team (top gun jags) but I have 2 male STRONG bases, I get highest on the team, and I'm not the lightest.

the fliers need to hold their own weight on your sholders and bases need to push up as hard as possible

Doing a toe touch has nothing to do with the height. They didn't go high because they're the only team with girls throwing the flyer while the rest have guys throwing.

@XCbabe0711 -- if you're doing a toetouch before you ride it the whole way, it cuts off the height. so you can't say it has NOTHING to do with it. because infact, it does.

@bellaaah39 just bc they are doing toe touches doesn't mean that's the reason they're not going that high. i'm a base in cheerleading and our flier does toe touches and we still won the competition. I mean the flier could have held onto the rafters in our gym! it depends on how much the bases are using they're legs or if they are just throwing with their arms.
