  • I hope the sex is worth it (looks like it is)

  • Ritchie shows us his real wives.

  • "this one is my favourite"

  • sorry 3:44

  • @assretgb Blackmore's Night - Minstrel Hall off the '97 album Shadow of the Moon.

  • please what's the name of the song .... start 3:4 i love it

  • Ritchie rules period!

  • no Gibsons?

  • correction ritchies wife is a witch shes put him under her spell thats why ritchie hates rock music now and only plays fiddeldy diddledy folk crap

  • Ritchie's wife is beautiful. He lucked out.

  • dont touch it, dont point it hahahaha :) I Love Blackmore, I Really Appreciate it..

  • Lady Gaga???

  • Watch her face maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!

  • Blackmore forever and ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why do you disrespect his wife ? She is a part of him for so long. He found his freedom playing and living with her... RITCHIE and CANDY forever !!!

  • @Sojic82 Nah. Just Ritchie

  • She may be annoying, but she's pretty hot.

  • @tikidevil Your barely giving this woman anymore than one credit, and in all actuality, Richie was drawn to her primarily because she's a living, breathing life support system for something he was probably immediately attracted to, and that was her....voice :).

  • Wow, Ozzy deals with dog poop all over his house. Ritchie's music room smells like cat piss and I didnt think any video could top watching Malmsteen's guitar collection leaning up aginst walls laying on the floor all over each other . No real point to be made. I just thought "guitar gods" were able to afford guitar stands or maybe someone like a guitar tech looking out for their instruments. And what nut hugger un-scalloped Ritchies guitar? I think we need to know the name of this fool.

  • and where is his 335???? when he started deep purple wtf???

  • game

  • I wish there would be a time when Ritchie plugs back in and goes on tour with Rainbow again. Maybe do one of these 25th anniversary tours or something. I saw him play live, brilliant, and sometimes he looked ticked off but the playing was BRILLIANT nonetheless. He inspired me to pick up the guitar and learn to play. Who's going to inspire anyone today? Grunge killed talent, video games killed free time, and the Internet killed the rest. Now the only guitar hero out there is a fuckin video

  • OK, 3:55 to 4:07, he has rail pickups on all three Strats, does anyone have an idea whether they are DiMarzios or Bill Lawrence, I know he used both brands.

  • God of Guitar is Ritchie Blackmore !

  • @nennass1 That´s correct! He is the Supreme Master!

  • My god she´s irritating. No knowledge about guitars. I agree; SHUT UP!

  • hmm bought a 12 string way back in the 1980s, the action was so dam high it was indeed almost unplayable and the strings were like number 8 wire, he has a point

  • ok why does ritchie remind me of the medieval times lol

  • does he says 250years????at 0:55

  • Lest we forget , JIMI HENDRIX is the single most influential guitar player in the history of recorded music, then you have the best of the rest, of which Ritchie is one of the best!

  • his Gibson was auctioned off by his ex wife years ago long before ebay made about £7000

  • Ritchie it is THE BEST in my opinion.. no one comes close to him.

  • @sinphonyh agreed 100%

  • @JIMMITH12 You just made to heaven dude!

  • Super!

  • MAESTROOOOOO

  • BN 4EVER!

  • OMG!!! *---* ♥

  • This set-neck guitar is great, and despite the fact it is MIJ, it is much better, than many strats MIA!

  • This set-neck guitar is great, and despite the fact it is MIJ, it is much better, than many strats MIA!

  • What does he play at 2:05??

  • i think candice is like a witch cuz she has made ritchie confuzed an makes him play classical music instead of ROCK althoug blackmores night is good but it is not purple or rainbow

  • his wife is cute but, seems like a nutjob!

  • ANY body that has such a PASSION 4 CLASSICAL-music

    will always write a GREAT-TUNE!!!!

    P. Bonham mavrakis-300

  • I really wish everybod would quit bitching and just listen to what Blackmore has to say.

  • 4:42

Ritchie playing Bach (Jesu Joy of Man Desiring) with his wife in medieval dressings is a bit strange to see... But Ritchie is Ritchie, and he can play what he wants, in the way he wants.

  • 2:23 what song is that??

  • @edgarrg94 Greensleeves

  • @edgarrg94 Greensleeves - traditional Renaissance tune for laut (the guitar grandfather).

  • Idk why but i burst out laughing when after Richie showed off all his fancy guitars Candice was just like "and here's all my little witches.."

She's so cute though, I love her and their music.

  • BRILLANT ! BEST GUITAR PLAYER IN THE WORLD ! I LOVE BLACKMORE !

  • I have one of the set neck blackmore guitars.

It is NOT all one piece. Alder body with a set maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard.

  • @ThieleM ..Im sure when he said it was a one piece he assumed guitarist knew he didnt mean the fret board itself, just the body, neck and stock.

  • @4eyedCyclopes

That is not logical. If something is multiple pieces how could he assume that people would know that the instrument is that which it is not?

He is mistaken. The other option is ignorance...given that he even points to the 3 piece maple, rose wood neck AND the Alder body pretty much demonstrates that he is either a moron or mistaken.

  • @ThieleM ..O.K..I get what youre saying, but if you ask any luthier and most guitarists what is meant by one-piece theyll know youre referring to the body and neck only. not the fretboard itself..I dont think there are many guitars where the neck and fretboard are one piece except for some classical stringed instruments..

  • @4eyedCyclopes

Old maple necked Telecasters and even some early strats had necks that were (not counting the skunk stripe) one piece. I have an old Suhr with a neck that is one piece.

The body in my Custom Shop Blackmore (the 2 pickup one in question) is 2 pieces of Alder....as are most alder guitars. It is really hard to find alder big enough to make up an entire body.

  • @ThieleM Yes its obviously not actually one piece, but rather glued together alder/maple joint. He just explained it wrongly by mistake, come on he basically designed that guitar himself.....

  • @infectionsman

If he designed it then described it by mistake that is a whole new level of dumb. Lets face it, he is rather dimly lit....he has been described this way for 40 years. Lets be real....he then looks right at the Lace sensors and calls them 'century pickups' when the word century doenst appear on them.

His Nigel Tufnelism is part of his charm

  • @ThieleM haha just face it he loves to screw around with people, like whith that extra tuning peg or whatever he put on his headstock

  • @infectionsman

actually no. He has been quoted all over the place saying the guitar is all one piece.

Blackmore is a great player but his rep as a dimly lit bulb is quite deserved.

  • @ThieleM Ok, people got your point: Blackmore doesn't know how a guitar is built, has no clue about its various parts and most probably he doesn't know how to play one either. Happy now?

The issue is, small people like yourself like to pick on ANY kind of mistake a great/famous/popular person does, be it semantics, grammar, etc. It makes you have an excellent opinion about yourself and for one split-second there, on a YT video comment, you were "better" than that person. A-mazing.

  • @Drojdier

Your mentioning me picking grammar etc is a complete non sequitur and your ad h ominem attack based on bullshit says more about you than it does me. Seriously, look up ad hominem and non sequitur. You are an idiot.

I dont agree with you, I am actually correct so rather than say anything relevant you roll into a personal attack. That is the sign of a very feeble and insecure mind.

  • @Drojdier

    fuckin 5-star post

  • @infectionsman

i think he means that it has a 'neckthru' design, with 'ears'

joined to the neck to form the body

    strats are bolt up necks.

  • for me ritchie blackmore will always be the number one strat player clapton and hendrix could never had played some of the solos ritchie has the only players who have come close to blackmores playing ability are jimmy page and jeff beck its just a shame that ritchies retired his strats and only plays classical folk music but he has earned the right after 40+years to do what he wants

  • @shredmaster100

Trust me - The Strat is not retired. It comes out regularly in Blackmores Night shows. In fact, the solo in 'Fires At Midnight'is one of ritchies best ever !!

  • @shredmaster100 lol yet those especially hendrix were the pioneers what a silly statement to make its so subjective

  • But.. the hilarity doesn't ensue until 4:16.

    Freaking priceless.

  • how to get a hot wife. have a signature guitar

  • it's obvious the chick wants some action not guitar action that is

  • I'm glad he's happy about it. It's killing me...but I really am glad he has found what makes him happy. He is a giant among guitar players.

  • What I find really strange is that he doesn't use guitar stands at all. May be they just brought all these guitars to one corner for this interview but it doesn't look like it. I got only 3 guitars but if I just put them by the wall I'll sure brake something. Strange :)

  • 0:40 the guitar hit Candice in the face XD

  • @litlemadguitarist Almost hit her :D

  • the best part about Ritchie's guitar collection is how much he loves each guitar, and each guitar has it's own soul to him it seems. anyone making fun of his wife's role in this video is jealous that their woman could care less about their guitars, lmao

  • plz guys, do you know what is this wonderfull acoustic song at 3:45? is it something Richie did? i just can't stop listening to it.

  • @zoolekramer its Minstrel Hall by Blackmore's night

  • @ThatMetalDude100 Thx man!

  • Ritchie has his own particular humor ... 3:12 XD

  • Candice is a calming influence as she creams his head each night..

  • They could get rid of the Japanese at the bottom and it wouldn't bother me at all. Otherwise, this is great.

  • I like these videos. They should make more.

  • lol he almost hit her head on 0:40

  • seems that he doesn't keep the gibson 335 anymore :)

  • @fwnm8 One of his ex wife stole it. Ritchie really miss this guitar because it was his first pro guitar bought by his father when he was 16. It was the main Ritchie's guitar till 1969.

  • @Maxlordhammond are you talking about the gibson he had?

  • Ritchie is the reason I started playing guitar. Specifically a Strat. Many thanks to him!

  • yeah this is from a japanese tv interview i think its from 1997 or 1998 because ritchie obviusly looks a lot younger than now

  • i wish ritchie would play an esp strat like kirk hammetts he would totally own it imagine him playing smoke on the water with that through a marshall stack that would be insane

  • For some reason this seems like it's from 1997-1998. Is that the case?

  • what were the pick ups,

  • Lace Sensor

  • wife sex!!

  • whats the song at 3:44 ?its really beautiful

  • Minstrel Hall

  • I just watched an interview with him, and then this 2 part guitar collection thing...I swear, this could be footage out of Spinal Tap! :-)

  • what is the song on 3:45??? anyone??

  • its called Minstrel hall

  • she ruined him with her weird music

  • @371944a

He's always been interested in classical, medieval and renaissance music.

I personally like Blackmore's Night, but she's only got a passable voice, not a great one.

  • @LysergicAaron later that night i have seen a video of him saying that he always played classical and renaissance off stage

  • Yeah I agree.

His classical influence has been apparent since the earliest days of Purple, for example that solo in the earlier part of "River Deep, Mountain High" from 1968 has a strong classical influence.

  • Great vid, cool guy and an amazing player.

  • look at this people....the God of guitar

  • SHUT UP WOMAN!!

  • @zacebbflo Do not be rude, man!

  • They primarily live on Long Island, NY, but own several castles througout the world, including Germany, I believe.

  • No, they don't have any castle.

  • he lives in Germany with his wife, doesn't he?

  • Where is ES-335!? :O

  • That guitar with the two pickups , does anyone know if it's on production ? Have not seen it yet ....very interesting.

  • i think couple of years ago i read about this guitar, on production, and the only minus was its price - 5000 or 6000 usd. But its american. There also was japanese version of RB signature, much cheaper but (comparing to this one) neck and body are not 1 piece of course, body is made from basswood (not ash), 2 SSL-4 singles

  • Sorry, I just got an album or solo guitar covers, confused the two songs.

  • Blackadder meets Nigel Tuffnell

  • Don't get me wrong - I really like Ritchie but I don't think Blackmore's Night is just about him...Candice is just as important too!

She's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen too and very very sweet-hearted!

...just wanted to say! ^ ^

  • yep pretty much..she is awesome...and ritchie is amazing...

  • oh yeah, ... you should check Nastassja Kinski then,...

  • Did Ritchie play 3rd movement at the end?

  • What guitar piece was that at 3:45?

  • Minstrel Hall

  • Thanks, gotta look that one up on TAB.

  • 0 gibsons?

  • doesnt look like the lady care about what he says!

  • Well, people are changing ... there's nothing you can do about it

  • shes really adorable......but seems like ritchie became kinda soft for her...shes really cute in this video but ritchies not the hard rock legend anymore....

  • For all the negative Candice comments I've read ,do you honestly think that if he didn't want her in the room during this segment she would be there ? I dont find her annoying at all. Say what you will about the man .. he's a legend and his contribution to music whether with DP , Rainbow , or his project with his wife, he's a master !!! He wouldn't be playing this style of music if he didn't have a love for it , which is quite obvious that he does. Shredders will hate it , no distortion .. lol

  • @LifesonFan4Life ....I agree brother....now, I'm not really into this kind of music anymore...but it's OBVIOUS that this guy does what he LIKES. It's not like he has anything to prove or any monetary reason to sell out. And for his wife....she may be young...but she's obviously cute as hell...and you can tell that they really love each other. She's very knowledgeable with regards to his guitars and history...which means she cares. He's found something that most of Hollywood can't :) Props!

  • Artist extraordinaire. He seems happy with Candice and she seems very nice. Cut her some slack. She ain't no Yoko Ono. Ritchie did the Purple thing and the Rainbow thing to death and now he's doing what he pleases. As it should be.

  • I can picture the conversation before this interview, ok Ritchie I'll let you talk about your guitars if you let me show my witches. Yes dear.

  • what a beautiful wife O.o

  • Anyone knows id that first signature guitar he showed is the like the whole new mex model from 2009?

  • yeah leave it to a broad to ruin a great band ! i love ritchie but he should get his balls back !

  • eeeh Ritchie...

I wanna see again a PURPLE ray over the RAINBOW...even if this music is good and as always very well played by him..but nothing compared with some other stuff...

  • She really is just bloody annoying. Ooh look at my witches!!! Stfu idiot. Richie needs to get her claws surgically removed and start making good music again.

  • 0:40 his candice in the face lol

  • yeah lol.

  • everyone is his favorite =)))

  • But getting to this video specifically, his current project is obviously an acquired taste for many folks (I like it), but I think he wanted to kind of simplify his life as a musician and perhaps was tired of the pressure and bombast of being a stadium rock god. He also realizes that life is short, so if you want to do this kind of stuff better do it now.

More power to him. He certainly has made my life more enjoyable.

And Candace, leave the Home Shopping Network bric a brac out, okay?

  • I've been watching a lot of the various interviews that have been posted recently with Richie (thanks you lot for allowing me to see them) and the thing that strikes me is how understated his sense of humor is. He is also apparently quite shy and so tends to hold back a bit, so a lot of writers, amny of whom are little more than groupies who can turn a phrase, have taken all that as arrogance since his jokes went right by them.

I agree with those who say Candace is a pain in the ass, though.

  • ritchie is so awesome.

i wish i had the money to buy his signature strat

  • I have the Japanese version, and I love it. The control with the scalloped fretboard is excellent

  • nice!

    i'm jelaous ;)

  • richie must be like 60 something now, he looks quite young for his age

  • The re-stitched hairline and a bit of dye might have helped there. (His son is 44).

  • Most people can't comprehend that what really matters is the music quality. I mean, if the music is good or not. Rock, blues, pop, metal, everything can be fine as long as it is made from the heart and soul and has musical qualities.

I understand that nowadays the medieval, classic music that he plays is, in his own words, what stirs his soul. That is what is really important, and he can play it from his heart and soul and plays it beautifully.

  • It's like having nukes at home but all you use is your crappy slingshot. The rocking Ritchie is sorely missed.

  • I wished he'd play his electrics.

  • that vid was really cool until that bitch says ive got a collection of witches FFS!?!?!

Jeez Ritchie stop playing all this medieval shit and rock out again PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ritchie is the Man.

  • she is married to a genius

  • ONLY FOR RITCHIE!

  • I found this reportage very interresting, I am wondering why Ritchie had never play celtic bouzouki, I think it could be a good idea, (it make me think that when I saw him playing the 12 string guitar), THANKS FOR SHARING Lionel

  • whatever happened to that black strat with the floating bridge that he used in the early 70's?

  • it got smashed in 72-73

  • SGs and 335s..didnt see any. hes still sick though

  • he isnt a gibson man

  • He used to be in the late 60s and up to about 1970 he used to use a Gibson ES335

  • where is it?

  • if u watch the live version of child in time

in 1970 or 69 he uses the gibson, personaly

im stuck on wich guitar is better

  • his ES-355 sounded too harsh i think. i never used to like strats now i love them. ritchie has the best strat tone ever. rock on brother

  • Ritchie said that his ex-wife ran away with the Gibson after their divorce lol

  • probably sold it and it its some where around in the world today.

  • ok strats are good , but until i fin a strat that i like i stay with gibson les paul

  • where is his gibson es 335 ???

  • he smashed it in early DP mkll period, he didn't need it :)

  • XD 0:40, close to hit she in the head:P

    ritchie is good:P

  • spinal tap...lol

  • he is good

  • i have the RB fender stratocaster model and it is AMAZING the difference between a USA Highway and this one...

Being only one piece of wood helps the sustain a lot and the pickups are really bluesy style

if anybody can try it, DO IT and you'll be astonished

  • Did he tune his mandoline as a six-string guit?! Craze!

  • Na its impossible ive tried it but maybe he tuned it down a step or hes just or genius OR BOTH!

  • Anyone who criticizes a true professional like Blackmore is an idiot, Blackmore is a master musician.

  • This "Only for Ritchie" guitar is equipped with a humbucker in neck position and a hot rail in bridge position? never thought i'd see Blackmore with a guitar without single pickups.

  • he played a 335 a while back before mk 2 deep purple

  • ...how many times you taken a new girlfriend home only to get sidetracked showing her gear and not getting down to what she really wanted and then only realise it when she's gone home...?

Just what it looks like at the beginning of this clip!!

  • Everyone can say what they want about Ritchie ditching rock and roll. I look at it this way...a mark of a great artist is one that can adapt and play all types of music. I think Blackmore's accomplished that, don't you?
