  • Where can you buy this?

  • How much does this sexy little thing cost?

  • Nice!! liking this a lot

  • were can you these?

  • Love this amp with single coils, great demo GMD.

  • Jack Black sucks donkey ass.

  • jack black?

  • What's the opening track GMD? Shazam didn't get it!

  • TALK BOXES!

  • not demoed but demoned... lol

  • I have a question: What does a tube contribute? I know it makes it sound "Vintage" but how so?

  • The tubes make the amp sound fuller and warmer. The volume of the amp makes the tubes distort and makes a vintage overdrive sound. This is called clipping. The tubes make the amp clip gradually and have a good sound. A solid state amp clips hard and makes a crappy sound. This is the best way I can discribe it.

  • a tube is what creates the sound. vacuum tubes have been used for sound amplification for decades. old tv's were built with tubes in them. Tubes dont make something sound vintage, they make something have sound. Solid states uses a processor and computer chips to emulate the sound that tubes create.

  • According to their website, the Power knob lowers the clean headroom, so you get more break-up, but also a lower volume...not exactly an attenuator, since an attenuator simply reduces the strength of the signal to the speaker output while theoretically keeping the tone the same. It seems to me to be more like a weird version of the gain knob on a master volume amp, only backwards. They say that with it all the way up, the amp behaves like a non-master volume amp. An interesting design.

  • For $1800 US I can get a Dr Z Maz 18... But, it does sound good. Breaks up more than I would like at volume but that could just be the video...

  • It sounds great, But if this thing cost 1800.00 USD Man, I have to agree with most people in saying it is not worth that amount. To my ears this thing sounds kind of like a vox, I would spend the money on an a good vox ac-30 instead or perhaps two ac-15's hahahaha.

  • i gotta agree.. a bit much for quite little.

  • HAHA! I just saw year 1!!! "You just want to see it a ll, know it all, suck it all and blow it out your ass! " HAAHAHAHA! You are the coolest gearmanndude! =D

  • jack black??!!

  • Sounds good..don't know that a thousand quid sounds so good..and that font's going to get old pretty quick too.

But good luck to the guys at AKA

  • The funny thing to me is It is at most a decent practice amp and it cost more that a brand new twin reverb. The twin reverb blows that little piece of crap away

  • More amp

    better amp

I know you like this amp and that is great. Get one and have fun. For the money I would get a Fender and have money left over for a guitar or another amp. That is all I am saying

  • 1800 bucks for a little amp like that? I dont think so. You couls buy 2 59' Bassmans for that. The audio kitchen folks must not want to sell many of these. FAIL

  • Meh... it's a mediocre amp without a volume knob. Waste of money, even if you are a millionaire. Turn the blues junior back on, GMD. Send that "boutique" junk back to the asshats who thought they were being innovative when they designed it.

"Hey Jim... check this out... we'll make an amp with no volume knob!"

"Awesome idea Greg! Then we'll charge 70x the amount of cost, and people will think it's worth it!"

  • @tcinpa37 : From what their website says, it has a volume knob just like a Deluxe Reverb, and I don't think there are many people who consider a DR a mediocre amp. The Gain knob acts like the Volume knob on a non-master amp. Of course, some people prefer master volume amps to non-master volume amps. That Power knob is kinda freaky...makes this thing like a master volume/non-master hybrid. It sounds good to me, even though I don't think I would buy one.

  • Thanks for the input. But it seems no matter what their website says, the physical demo of this amp displayed it seemed hard to work with, and absolutely no volume knob. I understand a gain knob will essentially get louder as your crank it, but it also makes it noticeably more distorted than a standard volume pushing valves would. The only thing this in common with a Deluxe Reverb is tubes and a plug, IMO. You could buy a DR AND a guitar for the cost of this bad idea. Sorry, just don't like it.

  • tcinpa37: I'm not trying to convince you to like it. I have nothing invested in this amp at all, but what you are saying about volume knobs and distortion is absolutely false. On a non-master volume amp, the volume knob will overdrive the input tubes as it is turned up, and depending on the amp, there will be more or less distortion per volume increase. A Twin has tons of clean headroom, so ears bleed before much distortion, a DR starts distorting at pretty low volume. This amp has its own rate.

  • @tcinpa37 You are truly an asshole douchebag. Why are you such a hater? What Hellbent is saying is absolutely true- it's not "BS". We all know what preamp "gain" is - but whether you label a knob "gain" or "blowjob" - if it makes the amp louder or softer... it's a VOLUME CONTROL.

  • like the souldier strap

  • The head is £1175 so that's about $1800...

  • Close.

No VAT on export so £1000 which is just under $1600.

    Cheers

    scx

  • Great sounding amp, us Brits can really make some awesome amps! Shame the audio Kitchen website does not have much information or pricing on.

    Cheers for the vid GMD.

  • how much is that little guy? Nice tone

  • Its a tube I dont think it would be under 150
