Yes, this is an Erard Spiral, which I am renting from my teacher.

We will have to save for quite a while to get my own Pedal Harp.

I am starting music school in Sept and will access to various Harps there.

    Warmest wishes

  • There are no words to describe your tallent! You are amazing! This piece is also really beautiful, very well played!

I would love to play the harp, but they are too expensive, and plus i already do piano and i am starting the violin. But all the same, it would be nice i think.

  • Thank you for your encouraging comment. I'm happy that you like this piece!

If you are considering playing the harp, you could start by renting one, as I do. I, and many others often start by renting lever harps.

I hope you will enjoy playing the violin.

    Best Wishes

  • vevinaanne, I meant to sy I have been using a pedal harp for 4 weeks. It was in January.

  • Lizzie are you working on a piece a week? what is your typical schedule? How many hours a day do you practice harp? What do you warm up with? Are you using your pedals yet? I don't see your legs going.

  • I don't actually aim to complete a particular number of pieces per week or play a particular number of hours a day. I play what I enjoy. For example, I bought a book of traditional tunes on Monday, and now I am playing 4 of them, but I might only decide to complete only 1.

My schedule is balanced. I do about 1-2 hours of Harp a day and about 1 hour of piano.

I always warm up with scales and arpeggios and some basic studies.

Yes, I started using a pedal harp 8 weeks ago.

    Warmest wishes

  • Beautifully done, Handel is just lovely :)

  • Sweet Lizzie, Lovely performance of a piece which can also be played at the piano......Good idea to think of teaching the harp later but don't forget that you could also teach the piano or play the harp in an orchestra. Have you tried the solo of the "Flower Waltz" in Tchaïkowsky's Nutcracker?

  • Yes I hope to teach either Harp, Piano, Abacus or Maths. Or maybe all four!

But that will be after I spend some time playing around the world! lol, am I dreaming?

  • Hi

Yes we had a lot of snow recently. About 20cm in one day!

This is my teacher's 150 year old Erard.
