that is a good question, one which is very hard for me to answer. I had a vague idea of where it was and the last time I visited it, a few years ago I went with a local friend who knew the way.Sorry I don't know how to describe where it is, other that to say its closer to junction City than Eugene and the name of the town closest to it is called Triangle Lake. This person might know.
to get to the rock slides (From Eugene) Head towards Veneta via W 11th. You get to W. 11th by downtown or driving to the very end of beltline west. Go straight through the town of veneta and continue driving west as if heading to the florence coast. about 10 minutes later yyou approach the town of Noti, there is a passing lane that comes up and you'll want to stay in the slower right hand lane because there will be a right turn that is labeled triangle lake....
Take the triangle lake exit and drive the entire length (takes quite a while) until it comes to a T (with stop sign) take a left (if you take a right it will just take you on a very long path back to eugene) after you take a left it will be another 20-30 minute drive. you will then approach the community of triangle lake. you will pass the actuall lake and continue driving and will begin to start going up a mountain. there will be a parking lot eventually to the right that you pull into ...
Unless it's the nearing the weekend Otherwise the parking lot will most likely be full and you have to find a spot off the side of the road to park. On the other side of theparking lot there is a gravel path that will take you down to the upper swimming hole witht he famous slides below that. Sorry this was so long and detailed. It's not very hard to get there. Takes about an hour to get there from eugene (40-45 minutes if you drive like me haha)
triangle lake is not in eugene, it's actually closer to junction city (it's probably all together about 40 miles away from eugene). Triangle lake is actually the name of the town that the lake(also named triangle lake) and the rock slides are located in.
I stand corrected. When I was living in Eugene in the early 70s , that was the only name I knew to call it. Your right it is closer to Junction City, but I doubt anyone would know where that was when I tagged it. Except a few like yourself.
actually not, if you are at the right angle its fine. Your back is ever really flat out on the rocks.
