A lot of people don't give CeCe the credit she deserves. Her voice is so amazing. She is one of the few people that can duet with Whitney and hold her own. I love for them to sing together. You can really see that they are real friends and love to sing with each other.

@TheLanard yes but after 1991, Whitney was gradually losing the vibrant quality of her voice (which she had all throughout the 80s) and you can see it in this performance in particular @3:46. Nevertheless, I give this performance a 10/10 :)

I think it's partly because she toured that whole year non-stop, started seriously dating Bobby, staying up all night on the phone with him, hanging with him, smoking weed and stuff, and not getting proper rest. That's when her nodules got bad. Mariah's voice started deteriorating around 1996, after she went on her first major tour. Her Butterfly CD was proof of that. Very airy, with minimal power notes.

I also liked Whitney's Do You Hear What I Hear Performance as well on Jay Leno - but I don't know why people considered the Bodyguard era Whitney's vocal prime though (when her voice became more raw I guess) neither do I understand why people considered the Daydream era Mariah's vocal prime (which was when her voice became somewhat thinner and less flexible)

i ALWAYS loved when Whitney sang with CeCe. CeCe always brought the very best out of Whitney. They look like they were having FUN!!! She had Whitney jumping at 5:01!!! Had her sweating, mascara running, hair about to come out its wrap!! I LOVE IT!!! That's SANGIN'!!!! i love Mariah. But imagine her sitting next to CeCe like this, just singing. She's technically great, but emotive singing is Whitney's forte.

@TheLanard yes but after 1991, Whitney was gradually losing the vibrant quality of her voice (which she had all throughout the 80s) and you can see it in this performance in particular @3:46. Nevertheless, I give this performance a 10/10 :)

I think it's partly because she toured that whole year non-stop, started seriously dating Bobby, staying up all night on the phone with him, hanging with him, smoking weed and stuff, and not getting proper rest. That's when her nodules got bad. Mariah's voice started deteriorating around 1996, after she went on her first major tour. Her Butterfly CD was proof of that. Very airy, with minimal power notes.

I also liked Whitney's Do You Hear What I Hear Performance as well on Jay Leno - but I don't know why people considered the Bodyguard era Whitney's vocal prime though (when her voice became more raw I guess) neither do I understand why people considered the Daydream era Mariah's vocal prime (which was when her voice became somewhat thinner and less flexible)
