I've been trying to be very gentle with my hair...but for some reason Im experiencing a small amount of breakage. Do you have any advice on other things i can do to prevent that??

I have the opposite of this I want my back to grow longer ... coz my sides grow . The back does grow but why so slowly-LOL ,,, Be blessed and your hair is gorgeous ...I am trying this today for church 2 morrow ... wish me luck.

Your hair is gorgeous. I love it. Have you thought about going natural? I am at 35 post relaxer and transitioning to natural. I plan to big chop next month. I love how my hair is thriving (full and thick). I too had lots of shedding during my 3-4 month. I did an Aphogee protein treatment and it solved the problem.
I get a similar effect by using my bantu knots (wow! you just said that, LOL) - but what's amazing to me is that you did this after airdying - AND you're at like 40 weeks post! I'm going to try my bantu knots after my next wash! :)
How do u sleep on this style? I used the flexi rods once and when I got up in the morning my hair was hit! LOL. I slept with a bonnet on but it was just super flat. Any suggestions?
I noticed that when I brushed the front of my hair less when puttin it in a pony tail, the front of my hair start growing long at the same pace in the back.

I absolutely love it! My hair also grows longer in the back than on the sides, but I've heard that hair naturally grows in a "V" shape like that. I noticed that a lot of people are constantly "trimming" to get blunt even ends as their hair grows. But think it's pointless to spend time growing this hair just to keep cutting it off trying to get it to do something that naturally it's just not going to do.
I'm almost 3 months post and with this heat I go to work looking great...get off and get home I look a hot hot hot mess by the head lol...Its got me thinking of getting micro braids lol

Love it!! Great technique!! I can't believe it looks so smooth with no heat. I'm definitely not feeling the hooded dryer right now. I rolled my hair with smaller flexi rods last night (orange). The look turned out great. I think the purple ones were to big to get the curly look I wanted with my length. I bought most of my hair products when my hair was much longer.

I wish I could tell you how that happened. The only thing I did diff. is no relaxer, and no hairdresser saying "you need a trim".

Also I read somewhere that hair goes through three stages; growth, shedding, and rest. So the shedding is probably just a normal as long as it stops shedding and goes to the next stage. Love your earrings!
