- how much customization is incorporated in this game? (the more the merrier)

- are there a variety of combos? (again, the more the merrier)

- and can you link up with people you don't know over WIFI? (like can you team up with people that you don't have there friend code?)

For the first one

There are only 3 towns if you beated the game,not many npcs and you can make your own party at the town and you can change the main character by tapping.

There are many combos for magic but for meteor and ultima you will need to be a yuke if you want to do them by yourself.

Not many combos with the weapons but still there is a good ammount for each tribe.

Im pretty sure you can and the things you say to them if the across the globe will be translated to thier language

IS this anything like its predecessor, ring bearers or whatever? That game was crap. The only FF game on DS I have liked to date has been Revenant Wings. The CC on DS made all the enemies look like freaking stuffed animals, and the Tactics Advance 2's law system was annoying (and it had a bull ---- storyline to boot). I wish square enix would make a worthwhile game.

No You both need a copy of the game, but one could be ds and one could be wii, or they could both be wii for online play. The only thing you cant do is two wiis, local play. Only online. But Ds + ds, Ds + wii or wii + wii (onlione only)

1. If you would like to talk with other people by using the keyboard chat, then yes you need friend codes. But you can always play with random people by using phrase chat.

Im sorry but I rather play Secret of mana, Chrono Trigger or Suikoden(all Snes and PS games) rather than Halo3, killzone 2 or some OMG WOW GFX FTW factor games.

Here we have a full compatible multiplayer final fantasy that is multiconsole compatible! That's pretty amazing if you ask me.

sigh, another one of those "its cool to be different and not mainstream!" people. Halo 3, Killzone 2, Crysis, and other games like that don't get popular soley cuz of graphics, there gameplay is exceptional and polished and just plain fun.
