  • CHECK OUT THE NEW CAM CLAMPER

  • The anti collision lights on the 787 aren't strobes? Now that's weird.

  • BOEING DON'T NEED WINGLETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @char1eston Go ahead Edison,... explain to us all why Boeing "Don't Need Winglets". (As you put it)

I'm quite curious what you (With your engineering degree and all) can tell us about these wasted additions to an airframe.

OK, you are on,... GO! ;)

  • that is one sexy beautiful aircraft and this is coming from from a a huge airbus fan, airbus when it comes to beauty eat your heart out.

  • nice landing

  • GO AMERICAN AIRLINES

  • woow oh yeah boeing 787. i can't waiting to see this bird on schiphol amsterdam the netherlands ;)

  • Text book landing!

  • Airbus could never compare!

  • молодцы! sorry for my english)

  • I love the way the wings look, Brilliant

  • I love the sleek nose design, looks nice =)

  • For those who doesn't know what kind of plane is that, it is called a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, equipped with twin Roll-Royce engines.

  • Congratulations ,,, BA ordered 45 787.

  • even though an american company built this jet in america, its actually a worldwide collaboration effort. just like airbus!!

so its a step forward for mankind on earth in excelling intelligence within our technological advancements!!

  • True beauty and grace .... i want one

  • Geil!!!

  • at :26 it almost hits those small planes.

  • Looks like every other plane they build today. Nothing distinctive!

  • sweet landing!

  • What a great engine. Rolls Royce made in Derby UK

  • @97Arran trent 1000's :)

  • just to think that you already have to go through a body scanner that saves all your images to a government data base, let alone to get on this plane will be an extra security screening, yes its beautiful but not worth it, just my 2 cents

  • Nice landing, beautiful plane!

  • why does the 777 look larger in my eyes?

  • @JohnF30Music Because it really is larger. Much larger.

  • Pilots :

    Mahmoud Keriker, Ibrahim Nevel,

were taking the plane for a spin.

As we can all see they can fly and land one.

  • During the 787's landing approach, the wings' upward curve looked overstressed. With lots of flight, there will be lots of mechanical working of those wings. Was the plane fully loaded: baggage, people, & fuel? Show more landings. Show takeoffs. This landing was very nice.

  • That was one smooth landing

  • Is THAT the "Dreamliner"? It looks nothing like the sketches they were showing us years ago, it looks totally ordinary and...plain..(hehe)

  • No joke this looks like a aircraft I designed when I was 10 years old... and now the made it lol!!!... all my designed had that same swept wing tip plus more... that is the reason why this aircraft can have such smooth landing!!!...

  • Nice Landing

  • I wish every landing was as smooth as this one. 1st class captain. Great job.

  • it was a normal landing, the runway was wet...that helps...

  • WOW.... o.o i would have loved to be inside it =O landing looked so smooth doubt ones inside felt the touchdown

  • Perfect touch.

  • look at the landing gears during landing..they litterally drop the plane

  • that was a very good landing.....the bounce of the gears is the gear taking the weight of the plane.....had you been a passenger, u would nt have felt a thing

  • The plane is probably a good one made with lighter stronger materials like carbon fibre

    metal matrix aluminium whatever

  • I'd love to see the wing loading tests on the 787.

  • SWEET looking plane. Hope it bodes well for the company!

  • hmm TASTY ! 787 looks way cool...

love how they dont need winglets as the WHOLE wing is cuved for maximum efficiency ! well done boeing on another great plane !

want one of these? hmm the waiting list is over 2 years... ! thats a lota planes :D !

  • @ferrarithedude it has "winglets" just not the kind most people are used to. They're called raked wingtips :) It's kind of a Boeing thing.

  • @ferrarithedude the waiting list is not because of lots of plane orders! :D the 2 year time is because of a lot of testing before they can deliver. According to boeing the first plane will be delivered in mid 2011, when all tests are completed :)

  • the string from the tail is monitoring the wind

  • Comment removed

  • the dreamliner, god i cant wait to ride that thing. and the landing looked so smooth!

  • I wonder what was dragging behind the tail? Looked kind of like a drone parachute.

  • its a trailing cone

  • It's a Pacer Cone used for air data calibrations. Airspeed, altitude, mach, etc...

  • yes that is another name for it lol...also called traillin cones

  • oh ya

  • just magnificent

  • damn and i thought the 747 had

    alot of wing flexing!!!

    lol

  • The wings of the 787 aren't flexing any more than any other plane with wings of that size..

It looks that way only because the wings are "bent up" to start with more than any other wing. Just look at pics of the plane on the ground. The wings already are curved up when its on the ground.

  • The plane was empty.. low fuel and no passengers. That was a lot of flex.

maybe they will adjust the wings a little.

    Beautiful landing.

  • beautiful landing but those wings are flexing too much.. not good. not very rigid.

  • You don't want rigid wings for several reasons- 1) rigid wings would give a harsher ride in turbulence, 2) they would concentrate bending loads at the wing root, instead of distrubuting the loads over the span of the wing. I'm sure there are other reasons (weight savings maybe?), but those are just off the top of my head.

  • I friend of mine used to work in a company that provided airplane kits. He said sometimes people would think they know better than the designer, and "reinforce" part of the wing. It would cause a concentrated load, and they didn't live long to learn about their mistake.

  • they are not really flexing, They were made like that,

  • lol, they were built like that.

  • Will it now be called the Factliner?

  • That plane has a beautiful, goregous wing. It has a lot more dihedral than I had expected. Beautiful piece of work!!!

  • The Plane, the plane!

  • Where's the Boeing Head Quarters?? o.O'

  • everett,wa.

  • Seattle

  • Chicago

  • They moved from Seattle WA to Chicago few years ago. f They almost went to Dallas. Guess the weather is better in the windy city ha ha!.

  • @NekoGeorge the main plant and I think it's headquarters are in Everett Washington, just outside of Seattle.

I've taken a tour of it when I was younger, pretty incredible place....anyways, I THINK that's where it is

  • Awesome jet

  • vratio se iz spain !

  • Beautiful Jetliner.. they chose the wrong place to test it.. Seattle in Winter! But I guess that's a test in real weather.

  • Does Pelosi get one of these to shuttle back and forth from California to Washington D.C.?

  • 2 of them 1 to go one way one to go the other way

  • How the fuck is this news?

  • chington711, you are an idiot.

  • You must be a fucking blood sucking liberal tree hugger...lol

  • the airbus A380 is better.

  • aterrizaje perfecto

  • hermoso!!

  • I have never been on a plane!

  • Wonderful !

  • What a monster!

  • wow nice landing

  • I saw that beauty being built in Everett, Washington. Took a tour of the plant and saw some that were already built.

    Boeing has brand new legacy.

  • Awesome. Those thrust reversers are loud, man.

  • qhat is this i mean what is this about?

  • this is the first flight of this aircraft. the Boeing 787 is the first aircartf in the world to be built almot entirely of light carbon fibre materials. this was its inaugural flight today.

  • Listen to those Rolls Royce Trent engines.......music

  • Could also be the GE GEnx engines as GE also has the engine contract along with Rolls Royce....

  • Those are Rolls Royce Trent 1000 engines. It's the lead engine for the B787 and all 3 variants will entered service with the Rolls engines.

  • They will be testing the GEnx on the next plane, no? I think I read that on Boeing's site. But I do know that Trent will be the lead engine. :-)

  • No. The first 4 B787's are Rolls powered. The launch customers for all 3 variants have selected the Rolls engines. Rolls is currently building their latest US factory in Virginia and will produce some components of Trent engines there.

  • This is straight from the Boeing website and what I was referring to. Sorry for the confusion.

"Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, the first Boeing 787 will be joined in the flight test program in the coming weeks and months by five other 787s, including two that will be powered by General Electric GEnx engines." - Boeing

  • Beautiful machine!!!! Congratulations!!!

  • thanks for posting.. i dont think i wouldve made it through the day without gettin this breaking news

  • LOL...Takemoney...me neither...it is just another typical day in the news, nothing to see here, folks...just a fetus gift, a dead false preacher and a jetliner landing...i was more interested in Obama's peace prize after bombing the moon tid bits...

  • @shineurs2 Italian Leader Punched in the Face will be the highlight of my week.
