@JinShufan : From yr name it seems you are Chinese...yet you seem to look down on yr heritage...Ziyi is not THE most beautiful Asian girl, true..but no-one can deny her delicate features, flawless complexion, & slender sihouette. Btw those 2 blonde girls are rather plain by European standards...if you've been to Europe, or have watched European movies, you'll know what I mean ;-)

Are u a fan from Ziyi? Anyway, I didnt mean anything bad, but I just dont like her. She's too ordinary(maybe for u not). I do never look down on my own heritage. btw Fang Bingbing is actually the perfect & beautiful one for Chinese. However, Ziyi and FangBingbing both have really bad reputations... u can google it, if u want.

Jinshufan- I'm no Ziyi fan....though I hear her reputation's not too good in China. :p

As for Fan Bingbing, I don't deny she's gorgeous...but her features look kinda..erm, plasticky? What I'm talking about is the natural oriental features Ziyi posesses...love her or hate her, you gotta give her credit at least for not resorting to look like some pseudo-Caucasian doll the way so many Asian actresses do (double-eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, coloured contact lenses,etc) .

Of course, I don't mean ALL Asian actresses...and some, like Michele Reis, are in fact Eurasian by blood. Bt I find it pretty disturbing many Asians are very frosty to very oriental-looking faces a la Ziyi, Choi Ji Woo,etc...just because their beauty does not conform to the classic 'Western' standard?

It's not the 'Western' standard thing, It's about the noble temperament (like GongLi, Maggie Cheung, Maggie Cheung, Choi Ji Woo, Liu YiFei, Fang Bingbing, etc...). Perhaps u didnt feel like that. But the media says that Ziyi looks petty & vulgar, with sallow complexion, flat chest, not ugly but mediocre etc... well, many Chineses second about that(me too)... sorry, maybe it'll makes u feel bad, but that's the truth in our mind... the things we cant deny are: she's famous and unsual lucky...

ah..I see, and no, I dun feel bad at all..totally get what you mean lol...now that you've mentioned Gong Li, Maggie Cheung,etc, yes, you r right, Ziyi can't hold a candle to them all. =) My personal favourite's actually Brigitte Lin Ching Hsia...she's THE goddess. ;-)
