El tema “Take The 'A' Train” lo compuso Billy Strayhorn, arreglador asociado en la orquesta de Duke Ellington, tema que esta orquesta utilizaba como primer número, o tema de bienvenida, al empezar los conciertos
These guys are great tourist information for Harlem. They tell you which train to catch, how to greet the locals when you get there and where to go for a good time!
@busessuck1 The A Train's got a whole slew of different versions and arrangements with lyrics. Eddie Jefferson does a great vocalese version. And Ella Fitzgerald sings another version of the A Train--with Duke Ellington. As it's Duke's song, we can dispense with the idea of "giving the song lyrics" and accept that Strayhorn wrote lyrics for the song at the time of its actual composition. (Just not these exact lyrics) You can listen to the Ella and Jefferson versions on youtube.
An incredible group, forerunners of everyone from The Ravens to The Four Tops. It's always sad to think that the swanky clubs in Harlem where black groups played usually prohibited them from entering as customers.
This is amazing. Lee gaines is my great uncle and I was so happy to hear his voice, which I had not heard since I was a child. This is totally amazing. I am looking forward to trying to obtain some of his hits and videos. I was wondering if there is any music from my aunt muriel who was his wife at the time of making this video

I love the Delta Rhythm Boys and your great-uncle had the most incredible voice. Handsome man, too! Was your aunt one of the ladies in this video?
