I found just folding back the tab on the top of the dvd player and undoing the 2 small screws on the dvd player, i don't need to take out either the player or the harddrive. Plus no need to undo the ribbons for player or Hard drive. (less mucking around)

okay i have a weird question. i opened up my 360 and then the disc drive upon lifting up the board in it i find that theres is a puddle of slightly warm black slime time substance inside. i dont know what it is but it is covering part of a chip and some other peices any one know what this is?

We all know whenever you want something cleaned you use water. Just throw the xbox into the washer and ta da! Although just don't throw it in the dryer, lol.

Although taking anything apart and dicking with it is most of the time the worst thing to do. Probably 80% of console owners don't know shit about the stuff inside it.

Although dicking with something you have no idea about can be good...I fixed my ps2's lens carrier with a twisty tie, haha. I found 3 extra screws too! I'm awesome.

Ha,I use an Electric Lawn Blower and blow it out and,It cost nothing but a tiny bit of electricity.

and blowing air is safer on the laser than using ur fingers and touching it with cotton.

No risk of scratching.
