I'm fine up until she starts repeating "Binary", which is so sad because of how happy she is, and how serious the Doctor is, and everyone kind of knows at this point that it -has- to be her. Then that horrible, horrible confirmation.
Donna, I might have loved Rose Tyler, and Martha was awesome, but I feel you were one of the best companions.
in the last episode, if donna remembers she would die due to a brain overload. but how did she still survive when she remembered when she started remembering daleks n stuff :L
This scene destroys me totally. The first time I watched it, I was completely bummed out the next day. Too numb to even cry. It's only every time I rewatch it now, that I'm in floods for about an hour. Just so unfair, regardless of what happened in TEOT. Also, I'd agree with the point below about missing Donna more than the Tenth Doctor. I'd have Donna back in a heartbeat, not so much Tennant (though I like him) And also agree with how gorgeous she is.
I can't even stand how sad this is! Completely crying my eyes out, not going to stop for another, like, 20 minutes! :'( Doctor, we can all tell that you are really hurting on the inside! Don't try and hide it! It just makes it 1,000,000,000,000x more terrible for us!
Donna's mums a bit of a bitchy cow, with out the Doctot Donna would have just had a completly boring life and she could have died and she is just horrible to him. No wonder he hates her.
This is the most heartbreaking scene ever. More so than when he lost Rose. Rose may have been stuck in a parallel universe, but she at least had memories, he family, and eventually a copy of the Doctor. Donna will never even be able to remember what she had lost.
Her begging the doctor to not have her forget him is so heart-breaking. no matter how many times i watch this scene its so depressing...she was so brilliant ugh it makes me sad and mad at the same time.
this scene gets me so sad and angry. donna is one of my favorite companions. she is like the doctors best friend. not a companion, not a lovey dovey friend, but a true best friend. i think sarah jane and ace were like that to. thats why its brilliant to see sarah jane in this episode. its sad that she cant come back anymore (R.I.P. Lis) but at least she was able to come back. donna cant come back to doctor who ever. she cant make an apearence and call the doctor time boy. that makes me so sad
This scene is actually why my sister doesn't like 10 as much as 9 or 11, because Donna was saying she'd prefer to die in the TARDIS than forget everything, and 10 did it anyway...
But when you think about it...when put under the exact same conditions 9 and 11 probably would have done the same thing....
@MsMoonfan4ever Well what else could he have done....let her mind burn up and have her die or have the harder but ultimately better choice of saving her and have her forget him, really it was a no win situation either way. I think it hurt him more knowing all that she had done and all the amazing things she had seen gone in an instant. You can just see the pain in his eyes as he leaves and is all alone in the Tardis
@MsMoonfan4ever no kidding...ten had the most depressing existence ever! I don't think i could have lived with the decisions he had to make. No wonder he snapped in "The Waters Of Mars". It's weird how attached we get to a fictional character!
@MsMoonfan4ever He will always be my favorite doctor...although i loved the ninth doctor too he was brilliant! He also portrayed someone who loses so much yet is willing to sacrifice everything for others perfectly. hes never mentioned enough to be honest and that's a shame.
@amirizar2012 Personally I like 11 best. He was able to pull off childish actions while still being able to show his age(Demon's RUn, starting the new timeline, Lake Silencio, etc.).10' personality just never solidified... Tennant wanted to do a carefree aura like what Smith is doing, but The writers wanted 'oncoming storm'.
But yes. Eccleston is the most important NewWho Doctor, without him, Tennant and Smith wouldn't have had any idea on how to portray the character...
@MsMoonfan4ever humm very true....I loved how they explored more of the serious side of 11 in AGMGTW....they showed how quiet and deadly his anger can be. I was super surprised with how he cheated death too! When he tells doloarian what he did i had a big grin on my face. I just loved the last episode in terms of rewatchablity. its one i can watch a ton of times and enjoy like how i love the eleventh hours. honestly i like each of the doctors respectively and i like Matt Smith.
@MsMoonfan4ever I find it stupid when people argue that so and so is a great doctor and the other doctor is so horrible its called change and it's a good thing. it took me a bit to warm up to Matt Smith but i truly started to like his portrayal of the doctor when he was talking to little Amy at the end of the big bang. He is the perfect mix of someone old yet young looking esp as hes talking about the times they had and would never have, it made me cry how sad and wistful he was.
@MsMoonfan4ever i agree he pulls off being childish too but also serious at the same time. I enjoy watching the the Doctor Who confiidental clips too esp the one from Lets Kill Hitler where he's making "Corny" Jokes hehe
I don't like Rose so much ... But Donna was so brilliant. Maybe she wasn't as beautiful as Rose or Martha, nor was she smart. But she was brilliant and so sincere .... I cried so much. She was my fav one. I know the lines from 3:50 to 4:50 by heart. My fav line ever.
When she says i was gonna be with you forever....in such a sad tone i cry and then lose it when she begs the doctor to not make her forget...forget rose and the doctor's sad ending...this was a depressing end. Donna was so brilliant sigh....it still gets to me i wished she had gotten at least one more season!
"I was gonna be with you, forever." "I know." "Rest of my life, travelling in the TARDIS. The Doctor Donna." Those were the most heartbreaking words I'd ever heard since watching DW from series one with the 9th Doctor. It's making me teary-eyed now as I'm typing this :'-( Donna Noble is my favourite companion (with Amy and Rory following shortly behind), and it just breaks my heart that she couldn't stay with him as the Doctor Donna. "The Doctor Donna" who will never b 4gotton <3
@Lairdesangfroid ohhhh and if you remember them they will burn your brain up hummm still say Donna got screwed out of a great end especially with how great her and the doctor were.
What makes this sad (@6:00) is because here is a man with no friends, no family, no wife or girlfriend, no children,....and he just saved the world from imminent destruction.
I always cry when Donna begs the doctor to not make her forget and for all her looking for him...after she saves the world. She has to forget all the brilliant times she had with the doctor so tragic and go back to thinking she's just temp sigh
Waaaaa! :'( Poor Donna! She definitely got it the worst. She thought she was just some lousy, disappointing temp. but then the Doctor showed her how brilliant she was. She saved the whole frikin' UNIVERSE. But then she forgot and went back to how she was before </3
@amirizar2012 lol. I know, she was amazing! :D But SHE always thought she was a disappointment. especially with the way her mother treated her... but when the doctor metacrisis could see into her mind he knew how she felt. he said "you think you're not worth it". and then he showed her that she was, and she was HAPPY. and now she can't even remember it all D':
@ForeverCharmed098 Ugh i know her mom treated her so badly esp in the episode "Turn Left". Although when the doctor visits her family one last time in "Last of the time lords" her mom seems to be a nicer person to her. Still she should have gotten more time with the doctor they were brilliant together! Altotogher it sucked how they ended her story sure she lived but not the way she should have.
Out of all he did during this show: all the action, all the comedy, it seems David Tennant's most shining moments were during the more heartfelt moments and this was one of the best. And in this scene, Tate was brilliant. I'm a man who stands 6'7" weighing in at 285 and I nearly broke down when he started on his,"There are worlds out there, safe in the sky..." speech. Quite possibly the best chemestry between Dr who characters, ever.
I disliked this, just because I love Donna so much and I wish she didn't have to go! :'-( Her character has always been one of my favourites. So much growth. She became so much--IS so much--and she'll never know it. Stuck back in her same old routine. Definitely not something I like. :'-C Oh god here come the waterworks...
When the Doctor and Donna are in the tardis and she starts talking like him, I think he gets a taste of the annoyance of having a mental copy of himself around...
Since Russel. T .Davies and Tennant left everyone suddenly started to hate Davies, and said Tennant's doctor was to human and emotional. Now i dont care people said he was turning the serie into a soap opera, no matter how great. inventive and scary Steven Moffats storys can be, my heart tells me he hasnt yet managed to capture a scene like this one.
Cried More when Donna Left then i ever had when rose left !! it was the way she went it was soooo sad , she lost her Best friend , but rose gets to have a doctor all to herself selfish Bitch !
Now tell me why Rose gets her own personal Doctor, gets to keep all of her memories, and generally gets to have a happy ending but Donna has to go through this shit. God, I cried my eyes out when I first saw this scene. It's not fucking fair.
@iluvlost09 i am new to both of the actresses, but from what I understand Tate has a show where she plays all of the characters, Billie still seems a level lower, don't get me wrong i'm not hating on her i just think she is not as good
@iluvlost09 because 1 of them had to die since this was Donna's season it would've been untrue to her character (as well as the others') if any one else had died
I just read about deleted scene from The Unicorn and The Wasp, where they both went to see Agatha when she was about to die.. I mean, it would probably be sad, but what if.. what if he went to see Donna when she was about to die.. so she could at least remember him at the end of her life.. And I know, I really know it would be a very very sad ending, but .. it really should happen..
Oh, would you look at that. Tears are flowing down my cheeks again. Why do I torture myself and watch Series 4 over and over again? :-/ My favorite series, my favorite female companion, my favorite story.
Man, this episode made me cry. Donna was the best female companion :( She brought the laugh, compassion and humbleness that none of the other companions had.
'All those wonderful things she did.' So tragic. To lose those memories then return to mediocrity? I hope that at least her mum was nicer to her and less critical afterwards.
I love Donna, and I cried at this ending. However, I think that it should have ended with him wiping her memories, then after the last one, it faded to black and you hear (from Silence in the Library) "Donna Noble has been saved." It would have just made it so much better!
I think donna was the best for the doctor. Martha was cool ad rose was to but they both fell in love with him and rose left him for the other him without even saying goodbye.
@Sapphirefisha Donna gave him what he wanted. He just wanted pure, innocent fun, without all the falling in love complications and it was so refreshing to see them do just that! <3
I cried so hard when I first saw this. Donna was so wonderful and in my eyes, the best companion for Ten, and this was just so sad. Especially because she can never remember how amazing she was. She's the best, they were so great together. :(
I loved Donna! She is and always will be my favourite companion. I liked Martha and Rose, too, but I wasn't upset when Rose left. Donna did all those wonderful things with The Doctor that she will never remember, and never be able to. Series 4 was the best!
I loved Donna so much and I don't think I cried more during any episode of Doctor Who than when watching this one. It was so sad and you could just feel how the doctor felt sorry for having to do that. They were such a great combination those two...
I was seriously hoping that after doctor was almost to the tardis that Donna would look out the window, remember everything, and run out and looks at the sky when the doctor is leaving that she screams "DOCTOR!!!.... i... remember" and then have some kind of sequel to it
I think this is the saddest ending for any of the recent Doctors' companions. Donna evolved so much as a character over the course of the season, and it's all completely ripped away from her.
hey :D ok im a little left behind...i just recently moved to Europe, Austria and ive been watching alot of BBC, and i have fallen in love with this series....the problem is that they are only playing the first two series over here where i live...could someone please please please please tell me where i can order or watch all the series online??? it would really make my day :DD
I bawled my eyes out when he wiped her memories. I always loved Donna and she was SO BADASS as a TimeLord!!!!! I didn't care about Rose, but OMG! NOT DONNA!!!!!! *sob*
I read somewhere that Donna is coming back in one of the specials next year and that Wilf dies! You should have seen me hurling abuse at the computer! A pure travesty if Wilf gets killed off after what they have done to Donna!!!!
I cried several times in this series..such a good friendship..and she's sent to a fate worse than death..never remembering the doctor..the things she did.

Man, this episode made me cry. Donna was the best female companion :( She brought the laugh, compassion and humbleness that none of the other companions had.
shahoney 7 months ago
Donna grated on my nerves for the whole series, but at this last moment she really showed that she deserved to be among the Doctor's companions.

Wahhh I can't stop crying and I've never even seen a full Doctor Who episode! :'(

Awww the poor doctor, I think that broke his heart! Hearts I should say. :'(

Sapphirefisha 8 months ago 4
@Sapphirefisha Rose didn't leave the Doctor, the Doctor left her there with the Clone whetther she liked it or not.
BurntJuiceTV 7 months ago

The was my favorite.....

I loved Donna so much and I don't think I cried more during any episode of Doctor Who than when watching this one. It was so sad and you could just feel how the doctor felt sorry for having to do that. They were such a great combination those two...
fuuuran 11 months ago
I was seriously hoping that after doctor was almost to the tardis that Donna would look out the window, remember everything, and run out and looks at the sky when the doctor is leaving that she screams "DOCTOR!!!.... i... remember" and then have some kind of sequel to it
:( gosh i cried my eyes out during that finally

This is too cruel! For her, and for me:(
myrtek5 1 year ago
I think this is the saddest ending for any of the recent Doctors' companions. Donna evolved so much as a character over the course of the season, and it's all completely ripped away from her.

Worse then what happened to rose in the Doomsday.

Saddest shit ever. The writers of this show seem to get off on torturing Ten.

Honestly, through all the heartwrenching thing that 10 had to do and had done to him, this was the most heartbreaking scene in all three seasons.

NO! this is too sad. Donna was my favourite! this ruined the whole show for me. stupid stupid stupid (sexy) doctor =(

This, for me, is one of the saddest moments in the whole of Doctor Who. I lose it every time her granddad says "but she was better with you"...

That music that starts just before he wipes her memories is awesome.
arwenae 2 years ago 2
Hopefully, in part 2 of the New special, the Doctor might tried to get Donna to keep her memories by maybe taking away the Timelord part out of her.

oh by the way i like to say that i think Donna grandpa wilf was or is a time lord and he had to make him self human just putting that out there ok

God I cried like a baby when this aired :(
I read somewhere that Donna is coming back in one of the specials next year and that Wilf dies! You should have seen me hurling abuse at the computer! A pure travesty if Wilf gets killed off after what they have done to Donna!!!!
LittleMissMe2006 3 years ago 5
I cried several times in this series..such a good friendship..and she's sent to a fate worse than death..never remembering the doctor..the things she did.
