  • Comment removed

  • woot wooot wooot

  • @wabben77 I recommend you put your nuts in a blender. You're gonna with you didn't do that as well.

  • @CodyOfTheWarzone thank you

  • Someone should recite spanish backwards to a dog while playing tennis with a shotgun while balancing a plate on their dick just to piss off skateNappreciate.

  • I'm ready for any war on earth...yeeesssss!!!!!

  • somone recommended i listen to these guys, wish i didn't, suck balls

  • 3:02 The best fucking guitar lick of the whole fucking song

  • I haven't heard this song for few months, but out of nowhere, while I was in bus I felt a strong urge to listen to it. I came home and now I am writing this comment. This shit is addictive I guess.

  • If you look at thomas eyes while you listen the song and not moving your eyes from them you will think the picture is moving but its not its the song make's you illusion's

  • @meshuggles whoa! that's so weird and awesome!

  • @meshuggles woah.... im freakin out man!!!

  • I am in love with this song

  • dum di dum di dum dii...

  • Meshuggah Spasm Drum sheetmusic is now available at ''drumsheets[.]com'' (remove the ''[ ]'')

  • holy shit this is tuned as low as fuck. A bass' low B flat on guitar.

  • @iLikechevelle The bass is makes my balls ramble, and the guitar tone makes my eyes vibrate

  • ... more like orgasm :D

  • @Blitzzkreigg Meshuggasm ?

  • Fact of the day: Tomas Haake (who sings this song) actually writes a lot (most?) of Meshuggah's music.

  • @7j8i9m

not a lot and not most. he wrote two songs in obzen, four in nothing... but he writes almost all the lyrics.

  • I love meshuggah for many reasons, but the biggest one is because whenever I try to follow each member of the band at the same time, I fail miserably. it's like trying to recite spanish backwards to a dog while playing tennis with a shotgun and balancing a plate on your dick. just.... aint gonna happen..

  • @skateNappreciate all i need is practice

  • @skateNappreciate lmdo that is f n funny

  • @skateNappreciate it isn't really all that hard, they have the main riff and the lead guitar player is playing that background thing, the drummer's beat is pretty interesting though. If they have a bass it's practically indecipherable... sounds like it's just going along with the main riff. Occasionally there is either an overdub of another guitar player playing the high pitched things you hear every once in a while. Take away the distortion and this will sound like a very poorly made song.

  • @skateNappreciate That is one of the best things I have ever heard, you sir are amazing, hats off to you.

  • @skateNappreciate i do that every morning before leaving my bed.

  • While this song is sick...as all Meshuggah songs...I cant help but keep noticing James Franco being in the band. LOL

  • @stephensdustinable oh my. that, or James Franco is actually Dick Lovgren. :o

  • This song puts me into a trance, and I start to withdraw into the darkest parts of myself. I fucking love it.

  • @joshyjoshyjosh its super badass :) i love how his voice almost turns into a part of the music and you can only distinguish it as his voice if you focus :)

  • @lisaa2da he captures the mood and the theme of the lyrics so perfectly with it, as monotone as it is, it's tortured and suffering. something Meshuggah are underrated for - their ability to write a song that musically and lyrically fits together perfectly. my friends mom who's an opera singer heard us listening to Meshuggah, and she said "Wow, this sounds like a WAR"... you can probably guess which song we were listening to. :P

  • E Octave = fucking win.

  • seriously. How can you not like this song?

  • Is this from the original album, or the remastered version?

  • @neelshiv This is the original. It has a slightly more tinny guitar sound than the remastered one. I personally prefer the remastered one.

  • this is in drop E standard, brutal

  • @snackeye12 No, it's drop Bb (Bb0, F1, Bb1, Eb2, Ab2, Db2, F3, Bb3).

  • @pearljaime2 na i play in drop A most of the time. i know what one octive down sounds like

  • @snackeye12 ...drop A is still a few steps away from a full octave, unless I missed you saying something

  • @snackeye12 This isn't brutal. This is fucking insanity.

  • @Doodorz tueche' sir

  • The vocals sound like they are overdubbed quarter tones apart, hot damn.

  • @blackshadowbass I FOUND YOU.

  • This is intense yo!

  • How come they never play Spasm live?

  • @Odieandgarfield Because Haake is singing, same reason why torture, and dancers will probably not be played live, but they are some of their best songs.

  • @CoolCoverBro He does? Well, you'll learn something new every day. Too bad Kidman can't sing it live, it's my favourite 'Shuggah song, except for Closed Eye Visuals.

  • @Odieandgarfield that is one of my favorites too. Tom also sings on futile bread machine, and the mayhem remix of future breed machine.

  • @Odieandgarfield its too epic to be recreated live. :) lol idk i wish they would though.

  • orgasmic..

  • No its the lower Bb on a 8 string

  • any1 ever played the game "Prey" on PC or Xbox 360 this song really fits........luv the song

  • @juvenillefirework, more than 10 years they had to work for that game... Oh, sorry, u'r right. XD

  • So this is octave tuning?

    That is messed up O.o

  • Light-weight, fragrancate, body oscillation.

Gotta love how well the lyrics flow. Best band in the fuckin' world.

  • meshuggah>music

  • This song was played one octave down on guitar, standard tuning but 6 whole steps down (lower than Cannibal Corpse)

  • @Jezzo237 Drop A (which is what cannibal corpse use now) Down a whole octave :) gotta love 8 strings!!!!!!!!

  • @Jezzo237 well in fact no...

this song is a Drop E, and its played in a 8string bassically because of the 7th(B) and 8th(F) tension, well the point is that the E standar has 2 E (obviously) and they are E2(the lower) and E4(the sharpest) and this song is played en Drop E1 so as you can see, only the E is dropped 1 octave down, the others are just 4 steps down, but we are talking about an 8 string so the F is half step down and the other 7 are half step higher

  • so this is what the original sounds like (i only have the remastered version) still a spine tinglingly awesome tune

  • This is one of my favorite Meshuggah songs. God it sounds frightening.

  • best song i've ever heard in my entire existence

  • Why play in octave tuning? they may as well just play on 6 stringed basses....

  • @MetalTillIDie461 Well, they did originally experiment with 3 bass guitars, but decided it wasn't the right sound. The 8 string guitars are designed to have the right range of a bass, but with the tone of a guitar. The strings are a lighter gauge than on a bass, and a shorter scale, so they have less tension, so they pack a louder punch.

  • @TheManSpider fair enough, i just thing anything below B standard is too deep (exception being evisceration plague wich is g#)

  • @MetalTillIDie461 If youve ever listened to Periphery, they use G# on some songs and it works really well.

  • Nämen fillegubben ;)

  • Now if only all music was like this..

  • have you guys noticed that Meshuggah uses at least like 10 "tion" words? LMAO!!

  • @Wolfmother116 They also like "Reality" ;)

  • this song's tuning is down six semitones :o

  • the bald one looks like my dad

  • Is this the song that's tuned six steps down from standard tuning on the guitar?

  • @phil56731 nope :) this is the song thats tuned six steps down on an EIGHT string guitar :)

  • @Boristhaspydr You mean they tuned the 8 string down six steps or its tuned like a standard 8 string...

Sorry if its a dumb question... i have the knowledge of nothing on music theory... Bassists dont need it lol

  • this song is so heavy, the guitars are detuned to one octive down (the standard tuning for a bass guitar) absolutly ridiculous)

  • @cmayor2007

Man you'd need some high gauge strings for this.

  • Haake's lyrics are... intresting. But it's kinda choppy and doesn't seem to go anywhere. Kinda random scientific and philisophical rants. I'm most likely wrong, maybe one of the reasons I don't understand is because I probably need a dictionary next to me to translate the entire thing. Anybody wanna help?

  • @CarterUSAF Im not sure either, but sounds like it could resemble something like a bad Salvia, LSD, or DMT trip.

  • @CarterUSAF

I don't think it's supposed to get anywhere. I see it more as just imagery, centered around pain and anguish.

  • @CarterUSAF I don't think it's supposed to go anywhere. It's just about painting a vidid picture of a destroyed and contorted organism. However in light of the whole album I think there is a point to it. The album tells a story.

  • Horrible quality...

  • ahh meshuggah this song reminds me when Tomas challenged me to the drum battle and I kicked his ass.

  • @laxdude67 Believe me, 6 months ago I thought the same. Meshuggah to the untrained ear sounds cacophonic.

But don't listen to each individual part, take it ALL at once and keep listening...or get high.

  • Heaviest song in the fucking world right here.

  • One of their greatest song! I wish i coupl play guitar with 1/10 of the talent

  • mind bending

  • this song bends my mind and makes me want gather all the metal heads in the world and play it to them and say eat this

  • This music gives me chills. It is so low.

  • I love the vocal style of this song. I think Jens should adopt it for future songs. I mean, the roaring is cool but it's been copied by so many homos these days. Cool song. Probably their most accessible, and probably my favorite Meshuggah song :D

  • It's not Jens in this one. It's Tomas.

  • @xKillersAreQuietx He writes/has written all of Meshuggah's lyrics. Sometimes together with another member, but he's always been part of it.

  • did they ever play this live? i love the song

  • OMG, Drop E!!!!!

    i worship these guys!!!

  • i thought this was like drop Bb, like on the 6th string of a bass

  • They play 8 strings.

  • Fredrik and hagstrom play 8 string guitars, usually tuned to F Bb Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb but for this song they down tuned even lower to E, thats feckin crazy man, thats like an entire octave lower than standard tuning, im not taking my 8 that low :X

  • @nubfaceforthelose no dude, nebulous is in drop E, this is in drop drop Bb so its an octave lower than a standard 7 string, its muuuch lower than i drop E i can go to drop E with my 8 string but it doesnt sound that good. on the orginal version of nothing they dropped there 7 strings a whole octave to do this song, beat that lol.

  • @gibbsies I stand corrected lol, and slightly bewildered at why anybody would want to tune that low :/

  • @nubfaceforthelose lol well, this song is an example i think its cool

  • @nubfaceforthelose They tune to Bb :)

  • nice pics !

  • on this picture it looks like Haake is the evil greying mastermind of doom (which he is), and surrounding him are his slightly unhinged minions

  • @Dakedoom Add this low frequencies madness, really stunning ;)

  • Come to Norway Rock Festival!

  • so if they play it live does he sing and play drums? lol no right?

  • @vdopower66 Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if he did. Haake plays really complex stuff, but with such ease. Thing is I don't think they've ever played it live.

Fucking killer song though. Nothing might just be their best album, together with ObZen. And this riff could tip over a monster truck.

  • wicked riffs love it

  • This song used to give me nightmares. Horrifyingly disturbing. I wonder did Tomas record vocals and drumming at the same time? :D What about concerts? lol

  • I can`t beleive that Thomas did vocals for this song!

  • I think Thomas should do more vocals on other songs

  • Apparantly he did vocals for Futile Bread Machine too which are awesome!

  • Tomas and listen to Dancers to a discordant system and Exquisite Machinery of torture

  • @konarider Isn't it jens?

  • @Tolkienartist No, it is Tomas, he does other songs like dancers, exquisite, and some songs on 33.

  • @CoolCoverBro Im confused. It sounds just like jens! Hmmm....

  • @CoolCoverBro Sounds just like jens. Im confused...

  • I just listened to the original Nothing release... I stand corrected.

  • Fail. It's the same on both version, anyway.

  • go listen to nothing once again

  • so badass

lol @ fredrik in photo :D

  • Fredrik Thordendal aka the lost love child of Terry Gilliam. haha.

  • INSANE, DIVINE then Haake snare jizz

  • my favorite song too:D

  • KICKASS!!!

  • Really a spasmic song.

  • T_T \m/

  • intense.

  • my favorite song by them :D

  • This song is amazing

  • They should make more music like this, the vocalist gets monotonous sometimes. But i really like some of their stuff.

  • this song makes me feel worried, paranoid almost... confused... in a good way

    meshuggah ftw

  • well put dude

  • FUCKING AMAZING

  • Joints shattered and torn apart

    Spasmrendered distortion.

    Organic spiral.

Stretched and torn into a new creation.

A worldless thing, a thingless word. Lightborn malformation.

    Haake is a lyrical genious.

  • thats my fav part

  • you, however, are not a spelling "genious" lol.

    its genius dude.

  • Sorry for not being american then :P English isn't my native language.

  • man do i love the power in those choked palm-muted riffs at 2:35...just God-awfully HEAVY.

  • Agree with all of you, that's why i uploaded it :)

  • thanks for uploading this, i favorited it. great song! the guitarsound is awesome

  • this is monsterous! It's so psychotic and f*cking awesome!

  • man that is a THICK sound

  • meshuggah is G.R.E.A.T.

  • Sick band sick song. >_>

  • This song has the best ultra-mayhem-hellish sound that i know.... in the beginning.. best

  • So true man ..

  • Best song ever!

  • Håller med!
