The Cantigas are Galician-Portuguese, they are not spanish or english. People there is a thing called "google"...

Y dale con que la abuela fuma xD Las cántigas están escritas en galaico-portugués, pero son españolas, primero, porque Galicia es parte de España, y segundo, porque, suponiendo que Galicia no fuera parte de España, el compositor de las cántigas, el Rey Alfonso el Sabio, nació en Toledo, provincia castellana.

1º-Espanha não existia nessa altura mas Portugal existe desde  1139.

2ºExacto, Galiza é parte de Espanha tal como é Castela. Espanha é um estado multi-étnico e multi-cultural, Castela é apenas uma província desse estado, apesar de representar a maioria dos falantes desse mesmo estado.

3ºAs cantigas não seriam certamente da autoria de Afonso X, pelo menos a maior parte delas, mas sim recolhas feitas por esse extraordinário e culto monarca.

4ºExistem outro género de Cantigas, Como as Cantigas de Amigo ou de Escárnio e mal dizer, que são definitivamente portuguesas ou galegas.

5ºO que é inquestionável é que as Cantigas de Santa Maria estão escritas em Galaico-Português e se a língua é uma nação o galaico-português tem uma identidade própria que ultrapassa fronteiras políticas (galegos, asturianos e portugueses são o mesmo povo, castelhanhos, aragoneses e catalães são primos dos anteriores e os Bascos são de origem étnica desconhecida)

6ºEm relação a Gibraltar convém mencionar o seguinte acerca de Olivença (Olivenza em castelhano):

A administração e soberania espanhola de Olivença e territórios adjacentes não são reconhecidas por Portugal, estando a fronteira por delimitar nessa zona. Em 1801, através do Tratado de Badajoz, denunciado em 1808 por Portugal, o território foi anexado por Espanha.

Em 1817, quando subscreveu o diploma resultante do Congresso de Viena (1815), a Espanha reconheceu a soberania portuguesa, comprometendo-se à retrocessão do território o mais prontamente possível. No entanto, tal nunca chegou a acontecer.

Como vê nem só Espanha tem problemas de soberania por resolver, seja como for o bom senso leva-nos a concluir que nem os de Gibraltar querem agora ser de Espanha nem os de Olivença de Portugal. A história tem destas coisas...

not necesarily in particular, the cantigas de santa maria arent from galicia are castilian songs wrote in Toledo Murcia And Seville,then the galician portuguese was the main languaje in castile for the liric work hence the generic name cantigas those cantigas was the work of the king Alfonso X himself and the court of musicians and minstrels from the crown of castile, let me call them mainly iberian medieval music.
