@l337ness555 idk if he told you yet but when you make a server it generates a file called "world". delete that file and replace it with the map file that you want to use and re-run bukkit/ minecraftserver.exe whichever your using. (note: if you replace the world folder i believe the new folder you put there must be re-named to world aswell, hope this helps you!)

When i was trying to lp, before 1.5 crashed fraps; because fraps hates me. i noticed that you can still do the ladders every other block, as long as you placed the next ladder on a different surface; kind of like spiraling upward. So place a ladder down then skip a block, and place another ladder to our left or right and you should be able to break the rules. At least it worked for me.
