My name is Ben Paulson. I am a 16 year old rapper from Tweed Heads. I’m trying to get more views and support with my videos so can you please check out my profile and give me some feedback/support?
@BANDITHIPOWA Because YouTube processes audio so much that you won't be able to tell the difference between these and some crappy $12 plastic speakers.
If I buy theese I wont be able to buy an XLR sound card right now so I have to hook em up to a single 3.5 output of my laptop how is it done and can i somehow get xlr connection
quality from this kind of connection with some kind of Unbalanced to balanced cable realy not clear on this any help would be good
Im quite tempted to buy JUST cos EVERYONE has just about every big brand name out there. Dunno weather its for quality or looks with all other Brands but i just want something that WORKS and works well AND wont break the average Musicianz bank lol
@WilliamSummerbell i hope you know what your talking about. Lets not forget that audio hardware is more often than not overpriced. Just like all marketing you pay for the brand. Ok sure, these arnt event opals but damn they sound pretty damn nuetral to me. Im curious as to where the low cost originates. Audio industry makes suckers out of many, its the perfect environment for it.
At the risk of sounding banal, you don't sound black at all. Very nice review but why the discrepancy MBKHD and marquebrownlee? Also, how does iKey compare to say, M-Audio? I've been eyeing the AV-40s.
I have the 808's connected to the mbox. However, I would also like to hookup a pair of behringer ms 40's to the 808's. how would i do that ? thnx for any help.
do they have good sound quality at a loud volume, say i was to use them for a small party in a house or small marquee and how do i hook them up to a 3.5 mm jack ?
Hey thanks for your professional experience, guys like you are a great voice to researches I was a few steps away from buying those "EXTREMELY HI END" ikey lol, simply because of budget. Thanks for reinforcing one of my griginal choice. KRK RP6G2.
@MrElwoodBlues1969 Also, in regards to my original comment... Wouldn't the other monitors I was comparing be in the same category? Compared to the BX5A's, and even Rokit's, wouldn't these all be "amateur" monitors?
@MrElwoodBlues1969 Isn't it all relative with studio monitors though? You basically learn the curve of your monitors after some testing, and they're all relatively the same after that? I am no pro but that's what I've heard from some pros.
Hey great review! I just went online and purchased these, and I really enjoy them, though the only place I had with speaker docks (platforms built onto the desk) large enough to fit these montosities was in studio 3 (the only one in the building that almost never gets used). The only problem(s) I had with these is like you said, the lack of cables to atleast get some less experianced people started, and the unbalanced RCA input. This wouldl have mde life way easier.
Question.../ im starting a recording studio right?... and people being TELLING me to buy a home theater instead of monitor spekaer cause they are cheaper..... and almost the same.. but cause im starting with producing music to i just wanna know if it is good decision at least for know.... ?????
hi,great review! do the other monitors from ikey have the same quality of m808 or is it only a matter of output power? I would go for m505 or m606 but im not sure of their quality compared to m808....anyway I heard very good things about these speakers !!!
Do you know of any comparisons between the M606's and the BX5A Studiophiles? I hear SO many good things about the BX5A's, and I'd love to know how these stand up to them. I can't seem to find many reviews on these speakers at all, and it kind of worries me.
i wouldnt call them an extremely high end speaker...extremely high end monitors cost a ton. but you are right, they are the best you can get for the money. i plan on getting a pair soon
@sml2238 I mean... For a consumer they're on the very top of the high end range... It doesn't get much better than this in terms of bang for your buck =]
@marquesbrownlee i totally agree. but the way you said it, was that they are high end studio monitors. they're actually fairly low end studio monitors, but yes very very high end speakers for your average joe. also, i heard they're almost identical to krk's. and everyone seems to love them.
they def are the most bang for your buck. im hopefully ordering mine soon :)
how did u learn how to use the settings on these speakers? did u ever take skool classes for anything u've done in ur videos? just asking, cuz i do lots of stuff wit Tech things and i myself havent taken any but have learned alot from youtube
@marquesbrownlee great thanks alot... that just make me feel better about tryna make videos and do other things like audio, without having classes but being self taught and still get somewhere
How would you compare these to M-Audio bx5 or bx8's? I haven't found many reviews on these at all, but the color's would work perfectly with my current setup.
@marquesbrownlee Thanks! Might have pushed me over the fence to get these. I heard the bass + midrange wasn't so great on the M-Audio's, if I end up getting the 606's, would these be lacking at all? Thanks again.

These are not professional studio monitors, professionals do not use these monitors. These are merely entry level monitors, nothing wrong with that.
