  • gamameraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! ow...

  • By the way cool review, so keep them coming, I subscribed to you

  • Looks like a great game, almost makes me want to un-mod my Wii and download this

  • @SashaNein Insted of wasteing your time playing this shit YOU NEED That wii active game. xD

  • I really don't understand this guy? Wii points, why don't you just use an emulator and download the damn game?

  • if you haven't yet, you should review blazing laser, it's a great game, with great music, thanks for the review, i haven't played this either, really... but this dose look kinda meh, also if you want to review another ship shooter game, check out viewpoint on the neo geo, that's an awsome game...

  • lol

  • The Turbo Grafix actually was a super 8-bit machine. However the graphics on the console were far superior to genesis and rivaled if not beat the SNES because of it's capabilities of having multiple layers of parallax scrolling with absolutely no slowdown. The Turbo's sound however was completely 8-bit, so SNES crushed it there. The Turbo is still the king of the shmup genre hands down. The VC hasn't even scratched the surface on the Turbo's shooter library. I recommend the emulator Ootake.

  • People just don't have the time to sit and play games for hours every day when they get older. Especially when they have a family. People don't lose their response time or coordination that fast from natural causes, it's their lifestyle that changes and games become less important. That's why major league pitchers can still throw strikes despite being 25+.

  • I don't think your skills get worse with age, it's the games that are getting too easy, I mean i remember the days when games were hard and it could take months on easy, nowerdays blind monkeys can finish halo 3 on hard, let alone easy, fact is when your conditioned for cushy games, over time your skills will dull, so when real games like megaman 9 come out, your gonna feel the burn as your old skool skills pick up again

  • lee u should download Ikaruga. the best shoot em up available n its frikken hard. only 400mp this week!

  • Lee, you can't be any more than 25, do your gamer skillz deteriorate that much by then!?!

    :(

To think I wasted youth on stuff like reading, I can read when I'm 80! Here's hoping the future gives us cybernetic upgrades for fast reaction times. Either that or RTS for teh old folk.

  • They do deteriorate. I am 31 and when I was 7-10 years old I could beat almost any NES game without much trouble. I just downloaded mega man 9 and it took me 4 hours game time of dying and dying again before I could finally beat it, lol.

  • D:

    Oh... GOD!

I wonder if there is a way to improve or preserve that precious response time and hand-eye co-ordination as you get older. You know gaming is testing the limit of human performance if by only thirty years old you it is almost beyond your limits yet at 10 you did fine.

Then again, 4 hours to beat Mega Man 9, even if you die a lot... that is still really good.

  • I'm 22 nearly 23 and I'm slowing down in my old age, my games of choice lately are like turned based rpgs set to like the wait option haha. Or games i have memorized like OoT

  • raked?

  • excellent... your not really into vert or hori shooters so you pick one of the most lack luster ones to get for your Wii... ummm, oooooooooookkkkkkkkk

  • Grandia victory theme! \m/

  • Nice. If I could use my bro's virtual console, I'd probably buy this game

  • 5 stars for the gamera ending

  • "profesionals" lol. lee, your the pro here.

  • multi layered scrolling is called paralax scrolling, if you need to say it in a future review

  • This game is good, but I prefer vertical shooters, that said you may want to look into the Star Soldier series. Not the first NES game, but the Turbo games. Those games have awesome music and power-ups almost as cool as Raiden. The downside is that they can get hard if you get esplode! lol

  • This game looks aight

Haha Go getem Lee. Keep on gaming.

  • rofl nice review. i expected a dbz b3 world destruction from gamera but still funny!

  • love your reviews keep up the good work!!

  • once you thing you got thiat game down try perfect cherry blossim get reddy to get your ass hand to you on a sliver plater I watched my freind play this IT BLOWED MY MIND O.O but deffinatly try it on easy

  • wasn't the turbo grafx the first system to have a memory card?

  • "wasn't the turbo grafx the first system to have a memory card?"

If I remember, it was worse. You had to buy a special peripheral to save games, so most TG16/PC Engine RPGs had a (LOOOONG) password option. I believe the Duo finally added some sort of built-in memory, but that was also not without its flaws. Then again, battery backups on the other consoles sucked too.

You may be confusing the game software with memory cards, as the games themselves were cards, and were tiny for the time.

  • im not a fan of shoot-em-ups but i might buy this

  • I luvs me some turbo grafx

  • hey lee, whats the most you've spent on wii points so far?

  • Sounds pretty fun. ^^

  • Blue Laser wep FTW >=D

  • this game might be the perfect preparation for when Wind Squid is released! by then you are such a skilled shhhhmmmupper that you'll easily defeat... the platypus! (even more fearsome than that turtle!)

    and oh. love the shirt.

  • what an amazing game :)

  • sweet balls

  • i had this game on my cpu...it was amazing

  • GAAAMMERAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love arcade/verticle shooters and psyconauts kicks ass.

    Your the man.

  • Shooters were always my fav genre, especially vertical ones. I still play them whenever I can even in arcades.

  • Nah-tsoo-meh

  • No you

  • *does odd grimace*

    Oh no you di'nent!

  • GAMEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON! hehe! ^^ 5/5!

  • Good review. I recognised the Grandia victory theme at the end as well.

  • Great review! Shooters are my 3rd favorite genre, so it's great to seem them reviewed, especially from the perspective you came from with it.

  • And the ending kicked ass.

  • Oh my goood you used the Grandia Victory Theme D:

Why didn't you ever come around to reviewing it?

  • nice psychonauts tshirt!

  • Wow, this took you a while to put up Lee!

  • I like it

  • Great little gem of a game and solid review. As always, good stuff my friend.

  • This review made me fart. :)

  • Yeah, for some reason I was better at 2-D shooters when I was six. At twenty-five I'm the king of Guitar Hero, but I can't get past the second level of 1941... weird...

  • Are you in Berzerk Mode +ON or something? Stop Releasing! xDDDD

    Downloading for the weekend...

  • this is just like super star soldier for the tg16 but a side scrolling perspective

  • GAMARA!

  • Right on man I played this game back when it came out. How much dose this game cost on the VC?

  • 600 wii points, it's a pretty good price!

  • Wow sweet music

  • Natsume made a game thats not Harvest Moon!? I'll be damned lol.

  • You gotta try out Ikaruga on the XBLA.

  • Good to see you are back in the swing of things Lee.

  • I remember this game.

This was like, one of the three TG16 games I owned.

  • LMAO at the end!

    GAAAAAAAAAAAAAMAAAAAAAAAAARRRRAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

  • really throwing them out, you feeling good Lee?

  • kewl.

  • Yay second and your on fire this week with reviews

  • you rock man. Very happy you're back. :)
