its awesome when he jumps out of the truck on to the volxwangon beatle that cookie ate,at the time big bird was really the main character not elmo, but since caroll spiney is so old now big bird pretty much retired and elmo zoey abby cadabby and rosita pretty much took over, kermit isnt legally aloud to be on sesame street anymore because of disney, and people like prarie dawn cookie monster ernie and bert the count grover and all of the original characters arent seen on the show as much anymore
@rcsmooth9, Elmo is in the movie very briefly, but he doesn't have any lines, he's just shown in the window. I think this was before he was a main character on "Sesame Street".
@ForensicsOnTheScene High? Man, what a drugged out chemical fiend. Maybe you should stop destroying the fragile organs that keep you alive and fill out a donor card? Give them to somebody who actually enjoys living.
Darnit, for a Sesame Street movie, some of the parts were pretty freaking depressing. I want to bag the idjits that captured Big Bird, in the first place.
@jamocha101, Oh, cool, then I'm not the only one! In another "Follow That Bird" video, I was just saying how creepy-looking "Miss Finch" was. When she's at the meeting at the beginiing of the movie, and "Miss Finch" is first shown on screen, I was shocked.
@coolstuff5673, I said the same thing on another video!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought "Miss Finch" and The Dodos were too creepy-looking.
At one point, I had a picture of Miss Finch on my computer background. I altered the picture on Paint by drawing horns, glases, and a mustace. But, I changed the background to a picture of my dog.
The saddest part in that movie was when Big Bird was explaining to Snuffy about going to live with the Dodos. It always makes me tear up when Snuffy says "Bird I hate to see you go." Then, they hug.
I never realized how extremely narrow Sesame Street was until I saw this. I liked how they made it look like that it was actually outside instead of on a stagese.t
I think the reason Grover's voice is different here than on the movie (Frank Oz's voice in the movie) is that Oz is usually not on set when they tape, so someone else did Grover. For the movie, Oz probably recorded the voice over the tape, but for this preview they werent able to add Oz's voice. I know this because it was the same thing that happened in Muppets From Space. If you watch the preiview for that Fozzie and Miss Piggy both sound very different as well.
me too! i used to watch it all the time when i was a kid, but watching it in adulthood, the 'one little star' scene, and the 'blue bird' scene made me cry... and alaina reed (OLIVIA) physically left this earth recently too... so sad.
I remember this movie a long time ago. I used to consider Miss Finch a villian, but then again, she had good intensions for Big Bird. She just appeared to be bad when she took Big Bird from his family because they are not feathered friends, but she wanted to place him with a nice bird family.
The moral of this movie is home is not about where you belong or where you need to be, it's all about where you live. Chester lives in a box, so that blows donkeys.
@DELIVEREE Because even though they are all Muppets and under the same company, the Sesame Street Muppets, as well as the Fraggle Rock gang and the regular Muppets (Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie, etc) are considered to be separate groups...if that makes sense.
If this picture were to have had a different cast in it, here's my picks:
John "Joliet Jake" Belushi and Dan "Elwood" Aykroyd as Sid and Sam Sleaze respectively
Carrie Fisher as Assistant to State Trooper
Also: the State Trooper's vehicle, a motorcycle with sidecar, is replaced by the infamous 1974 Dodge Monaco sedan (the Blues Brothers' "new" Bluesmobile).
I used to watch this on disney channel like in the mornings and if you look for it or if youre lucky you can find it in the 5 dollar movie bin at wal-mart
@GroverKent The movie was shot in widescreen. The 4:3 version has the sides cut off. Of course not everything has to be widescreen, but a movie that was intended to be seen in widescreen should be seen in widescreen. A lot of work goes into finding the right shot, and to then have the sides cut off ruins the look of the film.

Why didn't they count Follow That Bird as a Muppet movie? Besides, Kermit the Frog is in it (though for only one scene).

because everyone in it wasn't a muppet... most of the characters were sesame street characters. i love the muppet movies too though.
