  • i wish jim henson were alive to bring back sesame street to its golden years

  • its awesome when he jumps out of the truck on to the volxwangon beatle that cookie ate,at the time big bird was really the main character not elmo, but since caroll spiney is so old now big bird pretty much retired and elmo zoey abby cadabby and rosita pretty much took over, kermit isnt legally aloud to be on sesame street anymore because of disney, and people like prarie dawn cookie monster ernie and bert the count grover and all of the original characters arent seen on the show as much anymore

  • Palpatine brought me here

  • WHERE'S MY JELLO?!?!

  • Awesome movie! I remember seeing this in theaters as a kid.

  • great

  • Elmo is seen at the end, but he wasn't a character, just an extra puppet.

  • Elmo isn't in the moive

  • @rcsmooth9, Elmo is in the movie very briefly, but he doesn't have any lines, he's just shown in the window. I think this was before he was a main character on "Sesame Street".

  • why can't this be like Disney's the lion king?

  • o.o Grover's voice....

  • Where the f*ck Is Elmo?

  • Sorry guys 1985!

  • @Rockules318 This trailer is from 1994

  • this movie is still great as an adult, seriously i was laughing

"whats a snuffy guppy gus" - The Dodo's

  • Saw this movie high with my friend today. She started crying when they dyed Big Bird's feathers blue. We LOVED this movie...

  • @ForensicsOnTheScene High? Man, what a drugged out chemical fiend. Maybe you should stop destroying the fragile organs that keep you alive and fill out a donor card? Give them to somebody who actually enjoys living.

  • @nirvgorilla Very judgmental are we? What does my getting high have anything to do with you or assumption that I do not enjoy living. Ignorant fool.

  • Oh man, this was my favorite movie when I was a kid.

  • Darnit, for a Sesame Street movie, some of the parts were pretty freaking depressing. I want to bag the idjits that captured Big Bird, in the first place.

  • @jamocha101 Yea Ms. Finch freaked me out....Along with the dodos

  • @coolstuff5673 Ms. Finch... [Shudders]

  • @jamocha101, Oh, cool, then I'm not the only one! In another "Follow That Bird" video, I was just saying how creepy-looking "Miss Finch" was. When she's at the meeting at the beginiing of the movie, and "Miss Finch" is first shown on screen, I was shocked.

  • @coolstuff5673, I said the same thing on another video!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought "Miss Finch" and The Dodos were too creepy-looking.

  • What is the name of the vehicle Miss Finch Drives?

  • @brotherbrown1984

Looks like a 1955.5-57 Chevy Suburban.

  • @ClassicTVMan1981X Thanks a lot. I didn't know they went that far back.

  • "Two toss salads"...heh

  • At one point, I had a picture of Miss Finch on my computer background. I altered the picture on Paint by drawing horns, glases, and a mustace. But, I changed the background to a picture of my dog.

  • The saddest part in that movie was when Big Bird was explaining to Snuffy about going to live with the Dodos. It always makes me tear up when Snuffy says "Bird I hate to see you go." Then, they hug.

  • i followed that bird last night and had AMAZINGLY GOOD DREAMS !!!!!!!!!!

    -helena bonham carter

  • such a brilliant film. SUPER GROVER

  • The Sleaze brothers were the ones who disliked this.

  • I never realized how extremely narrow Sesame Street was until I saw this. I liked how they made it look like that it was actually outside instead of on a stagese.t

  • I remember I loved this movie when I was a kid

The trailer of it brings me back all those memories. :)

  • my kids watch this movie at least once a week i know all the lyrics to all the songs

  • LOVE IT! GREAT CHILDHOOD MEMORIES!

  • Classic film. Their first and best. ;)

  • Haven't seen this movie since I was a kid. Talk about back in the day.

  • Oh, God, my childhooooddd.

I want to watch this so badly now.

  • I think the reason Grover's voice is different here than on the movie (Frank Oz's voice in the movie) is that Oz is usually not on set when they tape, so someone else did Grover. For the movie, Oz probably recorded the voice over the tape, but for this preview they werent able to add Oz's voice. I know this because it was the same thing that happened in Muppets From Space. If you watch the preiview for that Fozzie and Miss Piggy both sound very different as well.

  • I want to see it now!!!! I love Big Bird more than Elmo to be honest.

  • @EmilyMikuChan I hate Elmo, to be honest. He's totally taking over too :( Big Bird needs a big comeback if you ask me.

  • <3 this movie if only i could find it?<3

  • me too! i used to watch it all the time when i was a kid, but watching it in adulthood, the 'one little star' scene, and the 'blue bird' scene made me cry... and alaina reed (OLIVIA) physically left this earth recently too... so sad.

    i love this movie...

  • @richiehembree21 Did it feel nice?

  • This is messed up but when I first saw this for a second there I thought cookie monster was raping at 0:49

  • What was the name of the elephant thing at 1:18? i think i remember him :)

  • Snuffalufagas!!!

  • i love this movie it wood rent it at blockbuster ever day but its been a long time senes i did that but i want to rent it some day soon

  • I remember this movie a long time ago. I used to consider Miss Finch a villian, but then again, she had good intensions for Big Bird. She just appeared to be bad when she took Big Bird from his family because they are not feathered friends, but she wanted to place him with a nice bird family.

  • The moral of this movie is home is not about where you belong or where you need to be, it's all about where you live. Chester lives in a box, so that blows donkeys.

  • that blue truck is parked in my home town!! Some guy actually bought it from sesame street. crazy!!

  • Why didn't they count Follow That Bird as a Muppet movie? Besides, Kermit the Frog is in it (though for only one scene).

  • because everyone in it wasn't a muppet... most of the characters were sesame street characters. i love the muppet movies too though.

  • @DELIVEREE Because even though they are all Muppets and under the same company, the Sesame Street Muppets, as well as the Fraggle Rock gang and the regular Muppets (Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie, etc) are considered to be separate groups...if that makes sense.

  • If this picture were to have had a different cast in it, here's my picks:

John "Joliet Jake" Belushi and Dan "Elwood" Aykroyd as Sid and Sam Sleaze respectively

Carrie Fisher as Assistant to State Trooper

Also: the State Trooper's vehicle, a motorcycle with sidecar, is replaced by the infamous 1974 Dodge Monaco sedan (the Blues Brothers' "new" Bluesmobile).

    What do you think?

  • good ole waylon jennings

  • you can buy it cheap on DVD now

  • im a bluebird

  • was watching 'the muppet's movie' and remembered 'follow that bird' ! bought back SO many memories - and i'm only 28!

am trying to buy it for my soon-to-be 6yo niece... can any one help me out ? am in australia! xxx

  • I used to watch this on disney channel like in the mornings and if you look for it or if youre lucky you can find it in the 5 dollar movie bin at wal-mart

  • I remember seeing this when I was 5 or 6... im 17 now and it brings back so many memories!

  • He mispronounced Sesame Street, for which people corrected him on.

  • OH MY GOSH!

I USED TO WATCH THIS MOVIE ALLLL THE TIME!

I think I'm gonna go watch it right now.

    Seriously.

    I'm thirteen now, but still.

Gosh, I miss this movie so much!

I used to cry at the sad parts.

    Not even joking.

    Thanks for the memory!!!

    :]

  • 0:17 WTF HAPPENED TO GROVER'S VOICE?!

  • dangit! it didnt show da dodos!

  • Haha, awesome. I've seen this movie a shitload of times, but I never knew it had a trailer xD!!

  • And why is this not out in a widescreen special edition?

When I head up the Sesame Workshop, it will be the second thing I do...

  • MuppetNewsFlash reported that a Widescreen 25th Anniversary DVD is due next year.

  • what year that came out

  • 1985.

  • 1985, such a big year for a bunch of great movies. But in fact, the 80s was such a mystical decade for a lot of other things.

  • Make it the last. Widescreen's over-rated. Not EVERYTHING just HAS to be widescreen.

  • Why not?

I want to see the FULL picture, not just a cropped version.

  • @GroverKent The movie was shot in widescreen. The 4:3 version has the sides cut off. Of course not everything has to be widescreen, but a movie that was intended to be seen in widescreen should be seen in widescreen. A lot of work goes into finding the right shot, and to then have the sides cut off ruins the look of the film.

  • @Rockules318 The movie is in widescreen, as part of the 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition DVD release
