Awesome musical ... great performances, love the Burt Bachrach/Hal David classics, and was lucky enough to see this in November 2010 with Sean, Kristin and Molly Shannon--who stole the show. What a great walk down memory lane. The '60s had such style.

I saw this show on Broadway in June and almost fell out of my seat. Sean, Kristin and Katie were seriously spectacular. I wish I could go back and see it again! :D
they are both amazingggg!!! omggg i lovee sean hayesss he is amazingg i could go on and on about sean, i dont really know tht much about kristen but she was amazing in this, beautiful voiceee!! AWESOME PERFORMACE, GUYSSS!!
I see the earring...OMG I love him so much. I wish he was mine. But I am straight....and a girl. Soooo I guess i am cancelled out. BUt am Willing to CHANGE...EVERYTHING!
they're amazing actors and now seeing them together is even more amazing! Ramin Setoodeh's Newsweek article was totally off base! they've got incredible chemistry! This scene is the living proof of it... Sean appeals to me as a woman in it as much as any straight man. Isn't being able to provoke emotions on your audience the consequence of being a good performer? Being gay just makes him greater!
Stupid, jerk comment in Newsweek, but I have to say,The character of "Jack" was so well played, and for so long, it is hard to picture him straight. Too bad, really, I like him and think he's very talented. He should really play against type for a couple of years.
I still can't see Chenoweth in this role. Having such a strong voice behind a character that is written to be so timid bothers me.
Seeing the show on stage was nice. Was a bit of a letdown, but it won't please everyone, I suppose. The revival was a nice effort, but lacked the power and emotion that the original had. Channeling the 60s is one thing, but actually succeeding to do it on stage is another.

OMG I saw this last night. Fantastic! However if they loose the cast the show won't survive. Kristin Chenoweth was fantastic and Sean Hayes was really good!
I got to see this a couple months ago., and when Sean Hayes came out of the stage door after the show, I yelled "I LOVE YOUR VIBRATO!!!" at him. Luckily, I don't think he heard haha.Seriously though, I LOVE his vibrato.
I don't know what the hell people are talking about when they say it wasn't charming, Kristin was miscast, etc. THIS SHOW WAS AMAZING! I thought Kristin was so sweet, funny, dramatic, sexy, etc. And Sean just, fabulous. Katie Finneran was also great, I think she really created the role, I listened to the original AFCBABT, tbh it sucked but Katie was marvellous. I'd give an arm and a leg to see this show again. Hope they do a cast recording! xo
Me and my hubby (who is not into musicals!) went to see this musical at Easter and was AMAZING!!!!!i originally went just for Kristin but sean totally stole the show, he was FAB!!! My hubby loved it too and I kept catching him chuckling to himself!!! Definitely go to see this if you get the chance
this musical was SO good, I went to see Kristin because I Just LOVE her but, it was one of the best show's i've seen on broadway. and student rush is only $30!! but get there as soon as the box office opens!
audience loved the show. it's been updated with a couple of other Bachrach/David songs. the 2 of them have a wonderful chemistry on the stage. Sean Hayes was remarkable in the play.
I saw them perform a few weeks ago. Its not meant to be a huge musical like Phantom, Le Mis. Its a small cozy musical with wonderful charm and voices. Actually Sean was a bit sick the day I went, but he was wonderfully funny. Kristin was so wonderful in her role - yes shes a star, but she gave her role such a wonderful charm and warmth. You have to watch this musical if you get a chance. The song a House is not a Home was so beautiful to listen to. Go see it!
I love Kristin and she was amazing and I missed her every second she wasn't on screen. Sean was really funny. And I'll leave it there because if you can't say anything nice...
@armofpilot 100% agreed. office parties... where's kristin? singing middle management... where's kristin? and to think 2 songs were added for her. i could have ditched Turkey Lurkey Whatever, and given her another! about the only time i wasn't actively wishing for more chenoweth was during katie finneran's brill bar scene.
@MsMusicalmayhem No need to be overly sensitive. I don't care at *all* about his sexual orientation. I care that he is not a good singer. He is quite funny in the humorous parts but too put that weak a singer up against Kristin Chenoweth just emphasizes the weakness of it. It's a musical. You need someone who is a terrific singer, not someone who can just get by.
@iamhelga - I agree 100% about Katie Finneran's scene. Only time I stopped waiting for Kristin to show up.
@armofpilot im very sorry. but many people commenting on his work talk about him being gay, and i just think that it is ridiculous to criticize someone because they like the same gender. again, very sorry
@MsMusicalmayhem I know people were picking on his sexuality. I read the Newsweek article. I'm just saying you jumping to that conclusion when I said absolutely nothing to imply anything of the sort is not the way to deal with that criticism and just makes the situation worse.
@armofpilot I found Sean''s voice to be quite pleasing. And remember that sometimes an actor is told to sing in a "character voice" or to tone it down for some reason or another. If you're not sure what I'm refering to watch Guys and Dolls. Also, Sean is a VERY accomplished pianist on top of being an actor.
@sk8trjess His piano playing is irrelevant to whether I think he can sing. I'm glad you enjoyed his singing voice but I found it incredibly weak. That said, I think that the songs are pretty across the board weak on their own so he would have to be as good as Kristin or Katie to over come the mediocre (at best) material imho. If the director told him to sing in that voice, that doesn't make it better, it just makes the director wrong as far as I'm concerned. but I don't think that's what it was
1:34 When Sean makes a tune..SO CUTE!!!!
