I find the sound is a bit thin sounding to be honest, especially with the solos on the high which is annoying, ALTHOUGH i havent got too great of an amp atm so it might be that, but the amp i got is laney mxd 120 head and cabinet but ye, just my opinion, i prefer to try stray away from pedal distortion and keep it to the amps distortion. (Which is what james does for his sound anywy btw)

@Shayden1994 TOTALLY amp distortion is WAY better than pedal, and Metallica DOES get their distortion thru just their amps. problem is, the only amp i can think of for that kind of distortion is a mesa/boogie n idk where to get those anymore hhahaha. but so far the boss metal zone is the closest thing if found. iv got a line 6 spider 3, i think its time to upgrade hahahah. dont hav the money tho lol but i want a marshall, those r pretty beast amps

Biggest problem with mesa boogies isnt so much the price its the $7,000 price tag =P Also, I would HIGHLY recommend you have a look at the Bugera brand, and their 333xl model. All valves, GREAT for metal and still does cleans for $1000. Look em up they are pretty awesome and they are a newish brand so thats why they are so cheap. I have tried a few of them and they insane for there price and Im considering buying one soon, look em up they're brutal
