This was so helpful! ohmygoodness thank you soo much <3 I never knew, especially for skincare, when to spend a lot of money on items and this was extremely insightful! :)
More expensive moisturizers have been terrible for me. Olive oil from my kitchen works better. If anything I splurge on serums and sunscreen if needed.
I'm confused - you said look for cleansers without Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate but the L'oreal cleanser you mentioned has that in their ingredients..
you said if you have blemish prone skin to find something a moisturizer without binding chemicals. just recently purchased PTR oil free moisturizer - which i consider a splurge (so funny i find this video) its supposed to be nice and light and i havent developed any problems with my skin, but is there anything in there that i need to be worried about? theres one paraben in it but that im not too worried about. if you dont want to look up the product, maybe throw out some chems to steer away from
I have a question Rachel :) you said at the beginning that you work in the skin industry..I go to a dermatologist because I want my skin to be clearer and clean from blemishes. She says not to buy anything for skin from counters...I figured that she's saying that because it's an easy way for them to make money but now you say that you use L'oreal's face cleanser. I cheat a bit :P I use my dermatologist cleanser and a drugstore one. What's your take on this idea of "No buying from counters"?
@Vicctorria. Not trying to answer the question, but I work for a few dermatologists and monitor and counsel certain patients. In our offices, we caution patients about new purchases because anything you change in your daily routine will potentially alter the effectiveness of your topical medications or trigger irritation. I went through the process of clearing cystic acne and healing ice pick scarring, so I relate and hope to read Rachel's response. Good luck with your skin!!
Rachel idk if you still check these videos but what's the splurge watch your holding? I really need a good one and I love yours! :)
