@chris978820 Despite the fact that in that time they have introduced a number of product lines that they hadn't made previously (set top boxes, mobile devices, mp3 players, app store etc. etc.), they also turned the company around from one that was on the brink of irrelevance and arguably bankruptcy to one that is the most affluent company in the world.

@pathammond good job at pointing out the obvious. lol. from 1996-2010 bankruptcy was so common that the entire economy was in a crisis and thousands of people were unemployed. But lets look beyond something as common as bankruptcy. In the early and late 90's Windows computers were so much better then macs and most people thought so. But now its sort of equal between windows and macs with different features.

Android phones have so much customization that you can change, edit, or add literally any and every single feature in the phone. Iphones are so basic with so many restrictions that even a 1 year old can operate it. and yes I have seen it happen.

@pathammond An mp3 player and an ipod both served the same purpose but they were also different devices. An "mp3 player" did exactly what the title said. It played mp3's. What did you expect it to do? and an Ipod played music and a little more but still had restrictions. And I didnt even know Apple made set top boxes so they must not have been popular or good since IO and direct tv were available which were better.

@pathammond i have seen mac computers from 1996 and mac computers from 2010. They basically look the same with a few improvements and a few big upgrades. The Iphone has been exactly the same ever since the first Iphone with a few minor improvements and like 1 or 2 big upgrades. Ipods r their only devices that have changed over the years. Ipad is nothing more than an oversized ipod 4.or Iphone if it allows calling. Doesn't seem like they changed that much.

if people would actually do research they would know apples so-called innovative history isnt so. There whole GUI which was the basis of there first pc of which the same elements are used today but this was essentially stolen from xenox, steve jobs arrogance and lack of any real computing knowledge without woz led them to bankruptcy of which microsoft were the main party who bailed them out (ironically apple now take every chance possible to slag the company who saved them).

Yes apple stole the GUI from Xerox. Where did microsoft get it from? Oh yeah, bill wrote for apple, took there GUI and made some money. You think apple went almost bankcrupt cus nobody knew about computers there!? Ha! they had some of the best in the buisness. They failed because steve had his eye set on something he wanted to acheve but the market just wasnt ready.

Also, you think the GUI was apples only claim to fame? look at the iPhone. It came in so late to the market and DOMINATED. Ever since that phone came out its been the phone every other gets compared too. Only now, three years on are other companys catching up.
