  • ce film est magnifique, Bravo Vancouvert.

La France prend le même chemin. ATTENTION !!!!

NO GAMES! MR Rodges go home

  • I watched this doc on the final day of the Olympics. I see the point the politicians are trying to make here oh so well. But with a record breaking 14 gold medals under our collective belts, I think it was all worth it. If only for the chance for Canadians to finally show the world what we are made of. Vancouver 2010 opened up that door. If we have to pay a few more tax dollars, what the hell. I feel pretty proud right now, despite all this negative press.

  • Am I right that Canada is not an independent country -still occupied by the british crown? It is a minority that command canda, isn't it? And in Dec 2008 the queen disintegrated the canadian parlament to keep the minority in place?

  • As an athlete, I wouldn't say the Olympics have control over amateur sport. I'm competing, but I don't really care. The results here have zero impact on the standings or rankings of any sport. We all have regular tournaments that we attend and those matter far more to us than the Olympics. This pride you see is simply ad space. Our smiling faces sell coke- for some reason. We don't drink coke though! And I'm ashamed to see my countries logo next to McDonalds hamburgers. Great movie though.

  • Fuck you Pierre de Coubertin, for exploiting the ancient culture of my ethnicity.

  • The Olympics are a scam. Coke and Macdonalds as sponsors??? The two worst things for us to consume. What about VANOC nazis running around harrassing protestors? These games are a sham and should be boycotted.

F***K You Gordon Campell. You are bankrupting our province for years to come and for what?? Two weeks of feel good moments. Cocaine for all bcer's would have been cheaper!!!!

  • Of course it is a 'scam'! Why do big corporations 'participate' in the Olympics? To sell and make money from advertisers.

  • @StraightTalkProwess so land claims bypassed?

  • Boycott the Olympics not for the human rights problems. Boycott the Olympics as a capitalistic sham and an unnecessary waste of work, and the sheer unethical corporatism. Fuck you, Coubertin.

  • thank you so much finally someone whos sees what i see

  • This film can now be viewed (and downloaded) in full, online, for free, at

  • I'm suffering through the book on this as we speak. I'm fairly sure that if I white out every instance of the phrase "real estate developers" and replace it with "Jews" the tone of the book will not change at all.

  • T Alex Hickman gets the order of Canada for raping Byron Prior's Sister and behaving like a Bohemian Grove fan! It is no surprise to me the Olympics are corrupt!

  • bitch all you want the party is still coming and you aren't going to stop it

however i still will watch it

oddly calgary was deleriously excited for the olympics and vancouver seems angry all the time

  • If you've been to Vancouver's Downtown Lower Eastside for yourself like I have when I went in August 2008 and seen all the homeless on the street, many evicted from low cost housing, most of which have to do with the Olympics, it leaves a mark on you.

  • not me, because most of those people are bottom feeder, i work my ass off to pay taxes in order to pay for their welfare. fuck them, they had a chance at life and they threw it away

  • Oh this argument, how original.

Have you ever heard of the cycle of poverty? It's an economic cycle which states that a family is likely to be in poverty for at least three generations and is incredibly difficult to break out of because of lack of education, lack of financial capital, etc. Often times poor in their youth were also abused and/or lived in areas with crime, drug use, etc. Now consider the fact that there are one million children in Canada living in poverty (Toronto Star).

  • Are these one million children in poverty just poor because "they had a chance and threw it away"? I don't think any sane person could say yes to that question. Now consider the cycle of poverty, and consider the dilapidated conditions and abuse of all sorts and consider how hard it is to break out of this. Some might, no doubt. But most don't (like the people in the Eastside), and what do you suggest we do with these people? Just leave them to dwell in drugs and the hell of street life?

  • Here's some links to prove what I'm talking about. I can't type in the addresses in the YouTube comment, but if you look up cycle of poverty in Google and look up the Christian Reformed Churches article, it gives a really detailed description and of the cycle itself. Google child poverty in Canada and Canada's Children Rights Council links the Toronto Star article.

  • The way I understand it. The 1984 Olympics was the first to approach the Olympics as a corporate event. The success led to widespread corruption and corporate greed. I applaud the people of Vancouver who are standing up and protesting.

  • The only thing that will work come the time of the games is....

    A REVOLUTION!

Why do we tolerate the assault on the homeless? Why do we tear down endangered wetlands? For some games?????

Come on Vancouver!!! We should know better than to have let this go through in the first place.

Just another beautiful part of Canada being battered by the corporations. Lovely.

  • Thank you very much for this. It is important for everyone to know how much the Olympics are really costing us...What else do you expect from someone who's name is sabrescupin06...when the hell are they ever going to win??? HAH!

My students will definitely be watching this!

  • thank you for uploading this! :) cheers

  • A great documentary.

  • Clearly not all Canadians agree. Hopefully you made it past part one and at least heard their arguments, rather than just shooting your mouth off.

  • if what's seen by the world is disregard for the environment and oppression of natives and people living in poverty, i can't really say i think the world seeing this as what Canada is is really a positive thing.
