Yeah, I bought SPORE based on the 2005 videos about it....kinda a letdown to see the lesser version was the one released..

I have played Spore before (had to pay $5 an hour to play though but it was still worth it) and it really depends on weather or not if you like to be really creative and spend half an hour just building what type of vehicle your people will use because if you don't then it will likely be boring but if you do like to do that like me then it'll be an awesome game

@Telemachus1112 didn't cost me $5 at all. I first started playing with the creature creator. Then I bought spore...Now I have to get the patches now. All I have to get is creepy and cut and galatic adventures.......

it's just that americans have been offered that chance to really live high on the hog (or think we are) and so we are more spoiled by and large when it comes to stuff. but i've travelled a fair amount and have reached the conclusion that the majority of all human beings worship money. part of our primal dream which we must awaken from in order to reach the next level of our evolution.

yes, i saw that documentary, the century of the self. very revealing. before his influence, advertising was so innocent. it was like... "buy lucky strikes...because they're good!" now everything is so indirect and stealth and ironic and dead.

i love the conclusion that we are not rational beings. ha ha! how could we be when life is just a dream we are dreaming! i try to face every day my own failure to be a rational being. i recommend that all humans try to acknowledge and remedy this

I love all of Will's games except for spore, he failed hard on that one. Hyped up for 5 years and its crap. Should have made it an MMO.

Spore would have been great as a MMO. As long as you had the option to go to either a pve or a pvp server.

It was a brilliant experiment. The animation system alone, that could handle so many different creatures in so many different shapes, was utterly incredible. The complexity of the customization was staggering.

Unfortunately though, there just wasnt a game there.

@Saktoth I think what happened to Spore was EA's fault. None of the Maxis people wanted to ship the product, as I understand things-- they wanted more time and EA said no, and a lot of the shitty decisions stemmed from that.
