you're right that several of these things are pretty universal in any country's dramas/movies. But there are some that are really prevalent in Asian drama (mostly k-drama), which usually have a more defined story arc than American tv. The person who made the vid must like Asian drama, or how would they even know about these repeated themes? So they're not picking on anyone, just having some fun with something they like. I love K-drama, even when I always know what's coming.
