@jobu88 2 others: Adrian Peterson and Barry Sanders. I saw both of play multiple times in college. They did some things I've NEVER seen another running back do.
@klewieblu Sanders did not start as a freshman, he was on the bench behind Thurmon Thomas for two years and only started in 88. And Peterson while he was damn good as a freshman and had some highlight reel runs, he was not the dominant force that DuPree was.
SuperDonster I must agree with you. I started watching the ESPN show and was truly amazed at how gifted this young man was. Wished he would have had a stronger support team behind him to show him his flaw so he could have corrected it and really took it to another level. This guy was truly gifted. Amazing story.
Don't forget, Marcus was only 18yrs old. He's prbly they only 18yr old athlete that coulda went straight to the pro's and been the best runner during his time. Barry Switzer said he was "bar none" the best athletically gifted player he's ever coached. That's amazing. And ESPN's 30 for 30 "The Best That Never Was" is AMAZING. You won't be able to turn it off. 10 out of 10 A++
I'm in this video! Marcus stops right in front of me (gray sweatshirt). My buddy (Yellow hat and blue jacket) had jumped over the barrier and told me earlier in the game if "Marcus breaks one I'm running onto the field." Greatest running back I've ever seen.
id say more like 4.2 speed not 4.5 mr announcer

I can only think of two other true freshman that could dominate a game like Dupree; Herschel Walker, and Emmit Smith.
