The way they were bouncing made it look like point fighting, and judging by their belts and that kick they are probably black belts, and in lots of rule sets black belts only need a mouth guard and cup. And it isn't honestly that bad. Full contact karate, muay thai and mma don't have headgear and people getting seriouslly injured isn't that common.
