  • the guys is awsome

  • man, these guysi fight karate too Antonio is my inspiration

  • I was there last year , cuz i live in Belgrade :)

  • I'd like to KILL with a FATALITY every stupid idiot that talks or screams during a kata! I'd like to cut his arms and legs and let him scream with PAIN!!! Do you like this sport? Stay at home and watch it on TV!!! BASTARDS!!!

  • Organizers would have done better with a traditional style music rather than cheap disco beats.

  • Shotokan is a modern interpretation of shuri te and tomari te. Katas that funankoshi learnt in Okinawa. Lucas interprets this to the perfection. He is athletic, powerful and dynamic. But Antonios Kata is just magnificent

  • finally someone kicked his ass!! it's time that mny people really understand that Valdesi isn't the best

  • Impresionante en esta ocasión Antonio Diaz. congratulations..!

  • Jeezus...What nonsense. Who thought up the stupid music and light show? It is ridiculous, ruining an otherwise nice performance. Budo reduced to a stupid carnival of the absurd.

  • what style is diaz?

  • @neeta1606 THAT STYLE IS (GOJO RYU)

  • @sk8oriel Shitoryu if you mean Antonio Diaz..

  • @shitokaidenmark ups sorry jeje, my bad

  • I hope they don't put on that big show with the lights and voice-over at all WKF events... That's just tacky in my opinion and I love competiton, it's not the reason I train but I think it's very useful if you use the experience the way it should be. I think though that when you look at this you can't wonder why many people think it's garbage.

  • Just in case anyone takes what I've said the wrong way I'm in no way trying to offend the uploader or Valdesi or Diaz. I just think the lights show is totally unecessary

  • Antonio owned valdesi...here`s a tought: valdesi did Gankaku at the finals in japan 2008, antonio did a different kata, Now at 2010 finals Valdesi goes with gankaku again and antonio does a flawless suparimpei, my point is shouldn`t valdesi have mastered gankaku by now?, don`t get me wrong, gankaku is a very difficult kata and valdesi has a very explosive performance but antonio`s technique was far superior. I`m just telling it like I see it.

  • @AAntillano Are you blind? Diaz has no stances. You could push him over. Shiko dachi and nekoash dachi are supposed to be low. He is standing virtually! & his sanchin dachi is appalling. Too wide, no centre, his hips arent rotated upward and his legs move too much when he punches. He doesnt do full mawashi ukes (no wonder they look fast). He looks like a snappy shodan doing a much higher grade kata with no understanding or ability. Just being fast and snappy doesnt make great kata.

  • @toanthony I'd like to see you do better...

  • @gghhap You are right. I could not do better. But i am not holding the mantle of World Champion now am i? My point is how disappointed i am at WKF judges that they dont seem to have a grasp of great kata.

  • @toanthony well wad can we do about that? if the judges like him? then its the final decision right? :O

  • @BurakkuFezzaFan Yes that's right. And what makes it so dissappointing

  • bueno ANTONIO DIAZ... VIVA VIVA VIVAAAAA

(you are the best in the world of kata...congratulations. i love the katare.)

  • Terrible decision!!! How does Antonio Diaz get to the final. His shiko datchi (sumo stance) is appalling. He is almost standing up every time. His sanchin is not rooted to the floor... a light wind would knock him over. Not to mention his sanchin is way too wide. How can everyone not see how flawed his kata is. I feel like i am in the twilight zone

  • @toanthony lol !!!

  • someone knows the song name during the Luca Valdesi entrance?

  • Lastima Luca, grande Antonio

Antonio has not won, Luca has lost. If he were not unbalanced, he win more easily than other times

  • @ArtesdeCaballeria not true at all. antonio was better regardless of the slip.

  • @madgecic I don't understand the term "Regardless of the slip." Yes, better because Antonio has made a easy, simple, facile, effortless, light, kata. Luca a difficult, hard, complicated, etc. kata.

No entiendo bien la expresión "regardless of the slip".

  • @ArtesdeCaballeria gankaku (valdesi) is definitely not a harder kata than suparinpei (antonio). Antonio's kata was a lot more controlled and his technique was better and more efficient. I meant by "Regardless of the slip." that antonio would have won, even if valdesi did not unbalance.

  • congratulatios Antonio, good, very good Kata.

  • Antonio Diaz got lucky. If Luca Valdesi didn't outbalance in that second crane stance, he would've won.

I'm pretty sure Diaz had it in his mind, "Yes! This is my chance now! Don't blow it like he did!"

  • @chickboy411 hmm...i still think he would have won. it may have been a bit closer though.....probably 3:2.

  • YEY!!! Finaly, Luca got beat :D I realy don't like his karate. Brings shame to shotokan!

  • @barnehagefanden

In what way does it bring shame to Shotokan?

Luca Valdesi may have different variations in practicing karate, but that's not what karate is all about. How you apply karate in your daily life is what matters the most.

  • @orenciojames Yes you are right. I was a bit disrespectful in my post. I just find I have a grudge against theese "kata/kumite specialists". All in all I guess its just that I dont like sportskarate. Especialy when someone like luca adapts a wonderfull kata into something wierd and "staged" just to get more points from the judges who are impresed by this stuff. If you take a video of Luca and run it at superslow speed, you wil find that he is not fast at all, he just fil the gaps with extras..

  • @barnehagefanden but as an athlete, of course, Luca is a great athlete. just wish he had picked up contemporary jazzdance or something... :P

  • @barnehagefanden

Ah, I now see where you're coming from. I'm guessing you're a traditional practitioner. If so, I hear this kind of criticism a lot from such, especially towards Luca Valdesi.

You have to remember now that many karatekas are performing "sport karate" nowadays because it attracts a lot of spectators. Most people in this generation like "dynamic" performances. Even I sometimes find some moves in a bungkai unnecessary. But that's what the people want.

  • thanks for uploading!!!

  • @madgecic

    YOU ARE WELCOME

  • @shitokaidenmark do you have any of the 3rd place kata matches?

  • @madgecic

yes I have ... they will be uploaded soon..

  • @shitokaidenmark cool. thanks again!! :)

  • @shitokaidenmark i am new at this but do you know the names of the kata's performed here, specialy the second guy. He did the longest kata i have ever seen

  • @Gabriel1o1

Gankaku from the fist guy Luca Valdesi

Suparimpei from the last one Antonio Diaz
