  • very useful! and true I think the same 1+

  • i don't think turning the disc is good either .... i just think labels don't bother much with the design of the cd case. :c

fortunately, harmonia mundi and other european classical music labels have better/safe sacd cases. :)

  • I agree. I have a Harmonia Mundi disc here and the case is exceptional. The Clemenza di Tito with Jacobs has exceptional packaging!

  • Actually, I always push the spindle down (as I would a button or the spindle of many dvd cases) with my index finger. This causes the spindle to contract ever so slightly, allowing it to be released properly, even with clear plastic trays that usually are less flexible than opaque ones. This way, I never have to tear the disc off the spindle (and possibly causing cracks) and will never get circular scratches from turning the disc.

  • Yeah! You are totally right! Thii is what I already did with my first CD in 1985. So I'm wondering why the video guy has such problems...

  • The trouble is really with sets that have two discs. I don't know if you are referring to the same kinds of cases I have, but the ones I have been getting over the years can really be quite tight. I think they are packaged this way to avoid floaters.

  • I actually discovered this technique quite recently and it seems to work even better than what I suggested above. Thanks for sharing this with us. Happy Listening!
