Audio is decent on the flip and kodak. Video is clearest on the kodak, too zoomed in on the flip and way too dark on the vado.

Well, now I don't feel so bad about the picture quality from the Sony Bloggie Touch MHS-TS20 I just got. Lots of pixel patterns and artifacts. Sure, it fills up the whole HD video frame on YouTube and other sites, but it doesn't produce high-quality video. That said, what do you expect from a pocket-sized HD camcorder, I guess. Right?

This one's worst.... Because of the framrate, the sound is 50/50 and light seems okay but kind of dull.

Vado seems the best, great framerate, sound was alright, nice POV and lightning was pretty good.

Mino seemed okay.

Well, I haven't tried the regular version, but I would assume it is in the perks (it always is). Perks like a wider format range, finer editing capabilities, more editing options....I suggest you go to Adobe's website and try the free trial they offer. Oh, and the one thing you MUST make sure of if you get the CS5 edition is that you have a decent Graphics card, since they have made this version GPU, NOT, CPU, intensive.

Well, I'm (sadly) currently running the whole CS3 Package. Yes, I am 2 versions behind, but I do still love it the same.  If you are a college student, then you should be able to get the entire thing for about a $1,000 or so. Oh, and when you get After Effects, MAKE SURE to get the Red Giant plug-ins. They are invaluable when it comes to making special effects *cough-KAMEHAMEHA-VIDEOS-AS-AN­-EXAMPLE-cough*

Yes, it should be compatible. I would check your Vegas 9 help menu to see what it is and is not able to work with though, just to make sure. Honestly though, just get Adobe Premier Pro CS5....SOOOOO much better than Vegas 9.

@FordsRule351 This is actually a common problem... sucks, I know. Mine was doing the exact same thing. But all of Kodak's stuff has a one year warranty, and I sent mine in to get repaired for free (except I had to pay for shipping...) Other people have done the same thing, and now their cameras can record for long periods of time with absolutely no problem. But yeah, it's easy to get the to repair it.

I have the Zi6, and the audio is a bit "hissy" at points. But then again. That only got bad AFTER I dropped it on concrete. Lol. The downfall of the Zi6 is that its HD 60P mode works well in good light, but not so well in dim lighting. I think I want to upgrade to the Zi8 though...that mic attachment looks SWEET!

In good lighting, the HD 60 FPS mode has excellent motion capture. In dim or low lighting, yeah, it sucks. Audio is about average (unless you drop it like I do, in which case, it hisses like hell)

Kodak Zi6 is fucking horrible the sound has the zzzzzz sound but it's brighter than vado and ultra . also it can't react to movment it blurs :( and the Q is normal for an HD cam so i think the first place goes to vado HD than to filp mino HD and the 3rd to Kodak Zi6 ... KODAK i am disappointed

I'm getting the Zi6, it's half the price of the others here in germany.

What chris forgets to mention is that the Zi6 runs off AA Batteries compared to Li-Ion on the VadoHD and MinoHD.

In my optinion, in this class w/o stabilisation, it's not useful to compare how yellow skin tones come out or how the framerate behaves in rooms without any direct lighting. This is not what these camcorders are made for, and none of them produces video under these conditions that can be called *brilliant*.

The Creative probably would've been the best in video if it didn't look like the white balance was constantly changing throughout the video. The only thing that bothers me about the Flip's video is things look a little to bright or vibrant. The Kodak, just like he mentioned in the video, appears to have a choppy frame rate in this lowlight video test. The Kodak's audio was amazingly better than the Flip or the Creative though.

@Syke1337 The Zi6 can really pick up bass from stereos, not just sound quality, also different aspects. Sounds a LOT less muffled than the Vado. Besides, Ashens did another review of the Flip and Vado, and the Flip Ultra was superior to the Vado in outdoor and indoor filming.

Chris, Thanks for the review. I saw a post recently that pointed out that a common issue was a lack of correct playback codec to take advantage of the 60FPS on the zi6. Many people complain that it's the same or worse when in fact it's a crappy player/codec that is not rendering the video correctly. Can you confirm that you got proper playback at full 60FPS?

I took my zi6 back because of how it records moving objects. Makes it choppy looking. I saw this on several other videos from other people as well. For still recording it is great though. I like the sanyo HD cg10 it's awesome!!!

The Kodak clearly has the best audio, with the deepest bass and crispest treble. The Mino HD and Vado HD sound like they're recording through a tin can in comparison. However, the Vado's extra-wide field of view is a definite advantage.
