Our old coon does the EXACT same thing! Our little girl is "Coon Coon", if you want to see her type in "raccoon plays fetch" and it was posted by Voodoo1707. I love her more then any dog I have ever owned.

They love to feel, and cozy up to the face. Raised eight of them myself, and consider it an experience of a lifetime :-) They do become ornery at about a year old or sooner, but oh what fun in the meantime! lol

Oh how exciting! Good Luck and let me know how he is eating. Thats the first big hurdle. I just put a video up with our little Buster drinking from a bottle. Keep him warm and let him fall asleep whiule you hold him a lot. Let me know how he is doing and if you have any questions.

We had Buster for just over a year. He tamed by feeding and holding him....he was adorable and I miss him. He went back to the wild to be with other raccoons! Wish we had him still! Thanks for the comment!

I once had a raccoon on back stairs of my apt. building and it freaked out the cat of a tenant on the lower floor. Then one day I had the cat in my apt. (its owner didn't mind) and the kitty spotted a foot-tall raccoon doll I had on the flor...The cat started to slowly back up... :) I guess lingering memories of the encounter with the lil' masked bandit...

Based on my experience with the two male raccoons I raised, yes, it is possible. Hell, think about how often cats bite and scratch, and how many people get bitten by dogs. Although they are cute, people should know that raccoons are VERY strong for their size. They are muscular and have strong jaws too. If you raise them with respect and love, you probably wont have any problems. You have to be around them constantly, so they don't "forget" who you are. That is why I was bitten by one of them.

Actually I live right behind a highway... :( All of my coony vids were taken at a friend's house, I have a remote camera setup that I put in his yard at least twice a week and I check the tape to see what it's recorded the next day.
