it was my first experience in such an event and i loved it so much i didnt want everyone who came over to go back. I missed every single person that came, i know strange.
Every time i think about it, it makes me sad because i learnt so much about different cultures and it was the only time i got to SEE AND MEET so many different kinds of people from all corners of the world in one city.
Its such a magical event it's got me counting down for the next one..

Definitley one of the greatest experiances of my life and I dont think that the Sydneysiders were "angry". The impressions we got from them were just really friendly and helpful. We were only there for one week and it will never happen again in Sydney so what does it matter that the city was taken over for a while anyway.

In Sydney and Australia there was alot of very angry people, that WYD and your religious hierarchy came in and took over the Sydney City centre as if it was a right. You people had no right to do that! Through your own stupidity and paranoia, your done more harm than good with the broader community in Australia. A lot of people were very happy to see your all leave. Less than 50 thousand local Sydney people actually went to WYD out of a city of 4.3 million! No one wanted you there!
I love World Youth Day, I love the Warmth of Australians and the those that went. I find Pope Benedict very intelligent. He is a Professor of Philosophy and Theology in the Universities of Germany. He is also the author of many books like the "Spirit of the Liturgy" back when he was Cardinal. Also in my culture we RESPECT OUR ELDERS BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE. THE HAVE MANY STORIES TO TELL US.

World Youth Day is a positive force in the world of Christianity, but unfortunately there is nothing identifiable specifically as "Catholic" going on there. Honestly, how many of those young people can name the Seven Sacraments and give even a brief description of each? Ten percent? The Church has lost her identity and World Youth Day is just one clear example of that.
i went to WYD 2005 in cologne Germany and i was DEEPLY moved by everybody's faith, i never considered myself very religious but it changed me as aperson....this video actually choked me up.....its an experience i recommend WYD to everyone!!

I hate people who protest about WYD i have been to 2 and the feeling of togetherness is amazing and btw it may be the head of the Catholic faith hosting it but all religions are welcome to experience it. The young people who go are inspirations standing up to say 'I Believe' when people there own age make fun of religion WYD bring ppl from all over the world together and because of it i have friends in every continent who like me went to be with God. World Youth dAy was very ecumenical. I had a great time. Many Non-Catholics were there and cheered us on. One of our group members stayed with a Lutheran FAmily and one stayed with a JEwsih Family.
ACtually many Catholic Pilgrims stayed with Muslim Communities in Sydney. I stayed in a Mosque in Sydney and the Muslims were very tolerant and welcoming.

I Loved WYD SYD! It was my first one and definitely not my last! I'm GOING TO SPAIN!!! :) I wished It never ended. I met so many wonderful people from opposite sides of the world and it was so hard to say goodbye but i had a great time!

I have friends from all those religions as well but you dont see me starting some massive "World Peace day" event where i secretly focus on stopping people from believing in god through an aetheism campaign. Thats basically what this craps doing for catholics.
Wow, another huge consiracy theory... But you see, people aren't forced to attend these campaigns. People just go there, because they ALREADY believe in God and Catholicism. It is probably true that there may be a certain volumen of people attending these reunions just to re affirm their faith. Every time i think about it, it makes me sad because i learnt so much about different cultures and it was the only time i got to SEE AND MEET so many different kinds of people from all corners of the world in one city.
Its such a magical event it's got me counting down for the next one..

Definitley one of the greatest experiances of my life and I dont think that the Sydneysiders were "angry". The impressions we got from them were just really friendly and helpful. We were only there for one week and it will never happen again in Sydney so what does it matter that the city was taken over for a while anyway.

In Sydney and Australia there was alot of very angry people, that WYD and your religious hierarchy came in and took over the Sydney City centre as if it was a right. You people had no right to do that! Through your own stupidity and paranoia, your done more harm than good with the broader community in Australia. A lot of people were very happy to see your all leave. Less than 50 thousand local Sydney people actually went to WYD out of a city of 4.3 million! No one wanted you there!

I love World Youth Day, I love the Warmth of Australians and the those that went. I find Pope Benedict very intelligent. He is a Professor of Philosophy and Theology in the Universities of Germany. He is also the author of many books like the "Spirit of the Liturgy" back when he was Cardinal. Also in my culture we RESPECT OUR ELDERS BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE. THE HAVE MANY STORIES TO TELL US.

World Youth Day is a positive force in the world of Christianity, but unfortunately there is nothing identifiable specifically as "Catholic" going on there. Honestly, how many of those young people can name the Seven Sacraments and give even a brief description of each? Ten percent? i went to WYD 2005 in cologne Germany and i was DEEPLY moved by everybody's faith, i never considered myself very religious but it changed me as aperson....this video actually choked me up.....its an experience i recommend WYD to everyone!!

I hate people who protest about WYD i have been to 2 and the feeling of togetherness is amazing and btw it may be the head of the Catholic faith hosting it but all religions are welcome to experience it. The young people who go are inspirations standing up to say 'I Believe' when people there own age make fun of religion WYD bring ppl from all over the world together and because of it i have friends in every continent who like me went to be with God. World Youth dAy was very ecumenical. I had a great time. Many Non-Catholics were there and cheered us on. One of our group members stayed with a Lutheran FAmily and one stayed with a JEwsih Family.

I Loved WYD SYD! It was my first one and definitely not my last! I'm GOING TO SPAIN!!! :) I wished It never ended. I met so many wonderful people from opposite sides of the world and it was so hard to say goodbye but i had a great time!

I am originally from Argentina & and I attended WYD SYD.
It's not a about religion, it is not for me at least. These sort of events give humanity hope. Happiness is contagious they say.
It is a great experience to see people from all over the world gathered in Sydney, one of the most multicultural cities. It is wonderful to see Australians sharing this moment with all of us. While old people declare war, young people declare love.

Actually many people are convicted of sexual crime outside of the church. It is widespread in soceity with internet freaks looking for underage chicks. I know and work with Minors with SExual abuse past 98% percent were abused by parents and relatives.

There were many Christians and CAtholics were Scientists and doctors. It was the CAtholic Church that valued Education and the importance of education. I went to CAtholic school from poor background.
