@murderaddiction No. On the west people have very liberal opinion about being religious. Even priests. But in my country ( Poland ) no one would allow them to record such video in the Temple of God. I remmember the Gorgoroth's gig in Cracow in 2008, when two man and a woman was hanged upon the Holy Cross, and in front of the audience there were sheeps heads impaled. It was big scandal over all country and Ghaal had criminal case.

I even bought the limited artbook version of "The Great Mass" which is my second favorite record of 2011 (after "Redemption at Puritan's Hand" by Primordial). But on this album, the orchestral part was composed BEFORE any metal part, that's why SF music is not totaly lame. The metal elements are here just to support the orchestral parts, to add a different layer and create an dark atmosphere.

@MetallumPT Haha, of course that's the way to go man, but don't you think Scar Symmetry or Insomnium or whatever would be a LOT better to recommend, as gateway bands into the world of death metal? I can't imagine anyone going directly from not liking death metal to liking the raw, pure old school stuff. I think that would have to be gradual. Extremely inaccessible genre, and that comes from a fan. There's a reason it isn't mainstream. Only a few people are blessed. :3

I think that is just as bad. Most metal I don't listen to for lyrical content anyhow. They sometimes have good choruses even if they are pointless. But, other than that all I really care for is the "emotion/atmosphere" conveyed by the vocal quality and the musicianship.
