He likes Dolly Parton! A bit of a surprise. But why not I suppose. Just goes to show how open minded and undogmatic he was. Frank will always be THE MAN.
Heavens to Murgatroid! Thanks for posting! Cool clip! Very early in his career he provided the music for a rarely seen & little known early 60's cult film called "The World's Greatest Sinner" (which was written, directed & produced by it's star, the late great eccentric character actor Timothy Carey).
This trooper did another interview with zappa. I saw the interview here on youtube a while back, but it has since been removed. Zappa was wearing a blue tshirt on the other interview.
Does anyone have that interview? If so, please upload again.
Zappa always gives such insightful answers during his interviews. And a police officer that likes Zappa music is definitely something out of the ordinary.
Frank Zappa, yeah, I met his daughter Moon Unit once in 1992 at Sears Roebuck & Co. in Pittsburgh. She was the singer of the 'Valley Girl' song that was one of my favorites. I didn't know that Frank had ties to Pennsylvania at all. I thought he was from California. I was 12 when this interview was recorded.
what a great line "here's the secret, there are 2 things that you have to do. One of them is to NOT STOP, and the other one is that you have to KEEP GOING"
This trooper has done another interview with zappa. It used to be here on youtube, but now I can't find it anymore... Anyone know where it is? Or if it's on any other site?
Were these series of interviews part of a community t.v. program in Pennsylvania? You gotta love the disclaimer at the very beginning if this piece! P.S. To all of you beginner guitarists out there who thin you might be to old to pick it up, remember, Frank didn't pick up the instrument until he was 18.
Cops get that way from hanging out with cops. They get indoctrinated into their own little world. Friends don't come over for dinner anymore and all their social and work life starts to revolve around work people.
It's the cops themselves that create this isolated and insular community not the criminals.
@mryellow123 I would love to discuss this further, but the rules of "game, set, match" dictate that I have already won. So i'm sorry for your loss. :-(
@mryellow123 No, I just like to mess with people like you on the these things to get your lil heart racing. Makes me laugh to hear responses from people like you. That's all. Well anyway, it's been nice talking back and forth with you.
@mryellow123 You're doing it right now. Calm down. And you're definitely sweating it and I'm laughing. But really, I'm done now and you should be too. You have a battle to fight against the facists anyway.
They were extremely well practiced and talented - Frank was renowned for fastidious expectations of the performance. They sounded great at the Orphium in Boston in 1983.
when I was a kid trooper Ash would come to my school to talk about street safety and other things. Can't believe this video!
