  • a good clean country... HEIL! HEIL! HEIL! HEIL!

  • FUCK AMY WINEHOUSE... she was just a puppet for the music Industry..

  • @Manolobartolo And a crackhead, don't forget that XD

  • Kinda funny.....I liked it, overall, but a Sam Kinnison (sp?) ripoff....

  • The fact that his gunshots make me wince is probably my favorite part.

  • And this has what to do with Amy Winehouse!? Dickhead...

  • why does this clip have amy whinehouse in the title ?????

  • @flyscreen99 Because the poster thinks he's being 'clever' *eyeroll*

  • fuck this shit , Bill didn't talk about a stupid bitch .. but people like Jimi Hendrix

    who fucking ROCKED!

  • BILL HICKS WAS A SICK FUCK. Now i know where Sam Kinison got his entire act.

    COMPLETELY. Fucking thief.

  • Another stupid cracker!

  • I posted "Bill Hicks - Dead Rock Stars" on facebook to shut the whiny (pun) fucks up who had the nerve to welcome Amy's death as a "serves her right" kinda thing. I hope it worked. I got no comments back :-/ Maybe it was the sarcastic title I gave it... "Her name wasn't Amy BeerGarden!"

  • y don't ppl laugh at him?

  • DAMN the more i watch this guy the more i see how SAM KINISON STOLE HIS ENTIRE ACT. jesus christ is nothing sacred? FUCKING THIEVES ON WALL ST.

    THIEVES IN GOVERNMENT &

    THIEVES IN COMEDY.

and the louder he gets...the more it sucks.

Give me George Carlin any fucking day of the week.Even Robin Williams.

They didn't have to curse every other word either.Although i have no fucking problem with that. lol

  • @ed11561 george carlin didnt curse?

wow, you sure know your shit bro.

  • @Maynard0504 They didn't have to curse every other word either.

CAN YOU READ ASSHOLE? "EVERY OTHER WORD"

  • @ed11561 well yea if we're bringin up shit we didn't have to do then none of us had to leave any comments sayin anything ever...EVER. But we did anyway so so what about what we didn't have to do or could or should have done.

  • I'll thumb that up just so everyone may still have a chance to get that message. Come on ppl, u know what to do

  • im pretty sure bill hicks WAS god. guy had such a clear view of how the world works

  • If bill hicks was around to see 911 he would have died!!

  • So what did this have to do with amy winehouse?

  • coke had to have been better back then

  • I cried that Bill Hicks wasn't hear to tell us his take on 9/11

  • HAHAh that was a great joke.

  • best video ever

  • Damn to bad hes dead. I would call him for m childs party any day.

  • You can't say the guy didn't have passion lol

  • my future kids will grow up on dream theater and lamb of god.. that ought to make them good people.

  • lady gaga... a women of a lost mind. yea, role model.

  • Bill died cause he was a loose cannon.. and the government doesn't WANT a Loose Cannon telling people what is REALLY going on! they can say he just (got cancer) but you will NEVER be able to tell me Cancer wasnt man made just like aids RIP Bill we miss you so much

  • @SatansMullet We Need More Loose Cannons.........Future Truth Teller are Coming

  • I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE SHOW

  • "Shut up and listen to him play!" That would have terrified me as a kid, but I would have been infinitely grateful later!

  • Bill hicks was another puppet in the social decline of modern society!! Yeah I love rockstars that rock but killing yourself or having a blood bubble in ur nose from doing drugs doesn't make you a rockstar, when did true rockstars and death become synonamousor legends for that matter. It's like it's cool to say what you have to say to the people and die. Fuck That, what is cool is being a person who is easy to get along with and takes care of there family. THAT'S COOL!!

  • And she didn't love her music. Otherwise she would have bothered to sing it properly, turn up for gigs and not let everybody down.. Now even the press has forgotten her.

  • Amy Winehouse is an airhead. Most rock musicians used to do the work to get famous, get the big contract, and then get a drug problem. She was an alcoholic, smack and crack head before her first single. Her and Pete Docherty. And were are they now? Career gone!

  • @SvenTviking Actually her album will be out jan 2011

  • @Mr123Gibson Hopefully...

  • Bill Hicks died in 1994

this isn't about amy winehouse at all

Bill would be ashamed of the way you were using this

    SHAME ON YOU OP

  • "I'm available for children's parties" Fucking great stuff from Bill.

  • @Munnchbunnch That one line can pull him out of any pissed off rant he does; it's genius.

  • FUCK THAT! I WANT MY ROCK STARS DEAD!

  • I deplore the attitude that people take that it's OK that Hendrix and Joplin, etc. all used drugs because they're legends, but when someone of today does it, it's a Godawful sin.

  • @ChickenGoujons No, its just stupid. I aint against taking drugs. But when you have the lessons of all these dead rock and jazz stars, taking smack and crack is dumb.

  • @SvenTviking

I don't disagree that it's stupid. It is stupid to get roped into hard drugs like that, but I don't hold it against anyone. Addiction is addiction and it can happen to anyone. It's still a shame that someone that talented is fucking it up. If one of my family members was a drug addict, I wouldn't just say, "Oh well, you know you should have learned from all those dead rock stars." Most people learn the hard way, especially when it comes to drugs.

  • Like John Lennon said, "Everyone loves you when you're six feet under." I have to laugh at the people who complain about Amy Winehouse and in the same breath proclaim their love for someone like Kurt Cobain, who blew his own brains out after years of heroin abuse. Some double standards, eh?

  • @ChickenGoujons Cobain was another over celebrated druggie who did himself in. I just hate the fact that he died at the end of a gun, and then his junkie wife tried to put him in same category as Hendrix, Joplin, and Morrison. I dont disagre with you..but my standards are consistent...

  • @steelbreeze420

Hendrix, Morrison and Joplin all did themselves in too. Bowie spent the 1970s coked up to his eyeballs, Lou Reed, Keith Richards and Bob Dylan were all strung out for the best parts of their careers. Yet, they are still celebrated as being some of the best musicians of all time. Taking drugs and being a great musician often go hand in hand, so drugs isn't really a good reason to hate someone.

  • @steelbreeze420

Part of the reason they are icons is because they lived on the edge and did things that infuriated the media and parents.

Yes, Winehouse has problems and it is a shame because she is very talented. However, that does not mean she's a "crack head loser". Having issues doesn't make anyone a loser.

  • @ChickenGoujons she has more then enough financial resources. 99% of the people out there have to face their problems without that level of support..i just cant stand it when people let the good time control them, have an out, and seem to relish in the attention we flock on them for being weak. having issues doesn't make u a loser, but having issues & being able to get the best treatment and you dont...makes u a lose...

And for the record..i am for the party dude..just not the party having u

  • Often rehab doesn't do anything for anyone. Once you have an addiction, that's it. Life isn't the same. Clearly Winehouse, just like Hendrix etc. surrounded herself with the wrong people. When you're that famous everyone wants a piece of you and drugs are very readily available in the music industry. It's not easy to escape. It's not as easy as just saying, "she has the money, so she should just get over it." Part of the problem is that often these people don't think they have a problem.

  • @ChickenGoujons Reading these comments a year later after Amy's passing is very haunting.

  • @Sophistaphunk

Yep. And the people who dissed her will be proven wrong (they already are). She is being remembered for her music, and I can only imagine that the legend will grow. Her album sales have rocketed, and all of a sudden everyone loves her, including the people who used to complain about her. She was a great, great singer and songwriter. I'm deeply saddened about her passing. It's a terrible shame, but the music she did release was wonderful. It is about quality, not quantity.

  • @ChickenGoujons She was a talentless junkie skank and the only good thing about her that if there is a heaven, she aint there.

  • @revchapel

    Yeah, fuck off.

  • Amy Winehouse has an amazing voice??? Have you ever heard anyone else sing? Amy Winehouse sounds like a fat guy shitting into a trumpet.

  • @victimsoftheamerican

You don't know what you're talking about. Amy Winehouse is one of the few musicians of this generation that is actually gonna be worth remembering.

  • @ChickenGoujons yea...remember that she was a crack head loser that is doing her best to throw her life away...

And that will be what she is remember for...cause at some point she will be found, dead, from an OD....

  • Say what you want about Amy Winehouse's lifestyle, but that girl can really sing and write. She's got passion and soul.

He might have been dead before she came on the scene, but Amy Winehouse is the kind of musician Bill was talking about. An artist who cares about the music with incrediable talent, even if she is self-destructive. When I have children, Amy will be one of the musicians I make sure they listen to, so they know what soul is.

  • Man...how can you not laugh your ass off at the end of his routine here??... " I am available for children's parties by the way!! "

  • lol, i like how comments on youtube turns into huge debates. i liked the video...

  • I dont know who hannah sucktana is but im sure Bill Hicks would hate her.

  • hahahahahha

  • You're a douchebag... Need I say more?

  • It's a good job Bill Hicks isn't still around today, he would have some fucking serious words to say about the way the world has gone. He is a legend, and one of the greatest thinkers of our time.

  • YES YES YES!!!!!

  • @05027802 I would love to hear what Bill would have to say about Autotune.

  • @05027802 thank god we hav joe rogan

  • @05027802 So true- but on the flipside I would really like to hear what he would have to say about nowadays. Just seems like a bit emptier of a world without his humor still around commin up with new shit like that. I think I have heard just about everything he said on camera.

  • @05027802 another dead Hero he is. he is one of the people I would have loved to meet in person just like George Carlin.

  • @TheBeastKing22 amen

  • he is railing against manufatured crap such as amy crackhouse

  • gee sounds like sam kinison to me

  • I hear and see no similarity in either one`s act

    explain yourself

  • ummmm the yelling and ranting is pretty similar. Plus sam and bill were good friends. I def. hear some similarities besides the yell part.... but you have to admit, the yell is sooooo sam kinison. How do you not hear that?

  • Carlin yelled in his act before sam was around, same high energy but nobody accused him of ripping off carlin.

screaming in your act doesn`t make you a ripoff of anyone

  • that's true... and I'm not saying anyone is ripping anyone else off in their routine.... I was just saying to someones comment who doesn't think bill and sam are alike and I think that their similar in a good way... after all, they were friends and around in the same comedic era.

  • @scallywag86

My thoughts exactly. If people would listen to what he is fucking saying, then they would realize that, no, he IS NOT RIPPING ANYONE OFF.

    Stupid fuckers.

  • at 17 my son got annoyed with the apathy of his younger teen audience and smashed his guitar thro the stage! (townsend style)god-his dad n i were secretly sooo proud..bt we stopped his pocket money until the damage was paid and grounded him for a month..:)

  • did he then molest the children? townsend style? lol maybe shoulda been 2 monthes lmao

  • I don't know what sithjarrod is on about but Amy Winehouse has more in common with self destructive rockers than the family friendly pop groups Bill Hicks was actually raging against.

  • Fuck that shit. did you hear him say anything about wanting self destructive idols ?

he wants fucking SOMEONE WHO PLAYS FROM THE HEART !!!

christ, it's amazing how screaming gets you nowhere closer to people actually listening.

  • I was listening. I wasn't saying that he was ASKING for self-destructive rockers, just that in my flawed opinion Amy Winehouse had more talent and actually wrote some songs with personal meaning, as opposed to whomever she was being compared to in a previous post. To me, 'playing from the heart' is intertwined with being a real person, so to speak. Hannah Montana is not a real person, and no one ever accused her of playing from the heart, right? I hope that clarifies my earlier statement.

  • My kids are gonna listen to Rage Against the Machine and The Clash. :D

  • do u want them to hate the police or something, lol

  • I do.

  • Tried to make my sister listen to RATM coz she just fucking listens to Mika and those fucking chipmunk songs all the time. It best be a fucking phase, I tell you.

  • my kids are growning up on

    Tool

  • hell YEAH

  • @blaqksails92 ur kids are tools ?

  • @maciejwrotek

they will be my personal "tools" for work and construction yes

but thats not what i ment

  • @blaqksails92 you...are... best parent ever.

  • @blaqksails92 Give me the address to the hospital when they're born, so I can pull their fucking heads off and do the world a favor.

  • @blaquiste Wow. finding my wife and giving her an abortion would be a lot more simple you inneffecient bastard..........

  • @blaqksails92

    -.- poor kids

  • @JonnyChannel enlightened kids

  • @blaqksails92 if ever there was a top comment to like.!!!!! YEA FUCKING TOOL!!!! \m/ \m/

  • @blaqksails92 Indeed. Third eye is going to be playing in the womb, and i will trip acid with my kid

  • Bill Hicks is great!

  • My exact feelings about music today, and i'm only 22.

  • my exact feelings about today's music, and I'm only 16

    :)

  • And there's your case in point.

  • A reoccuring Hicks' theme was frustration with a culture of increasingly homogenized, conformist consumerism - the herd mentality that he only found more of the longer he toured. Apparently he perceived a downward trajectory of music's place in society from a medium of transcendent expression to existing only in the context as advertisement for consumer goods, thus adding to afforementioned frustration. What's not to get?

  • Given the human nature of filtering statements through our individual preconceived notions, beliefs and biases - i'm amazed we can communicate intent at all.

  • clearly those not getting Bill's work have to go and serve table eight their waffles and they can always watch re-runs of Carrot -Top and Gallagher. May I recommend (to those able to read) 'American Scream' Bil's book, I just wonder what he'd make of all this? "I'm Bill ~Hicks and I'm dead now, cigarettes didn't kill me, I was kicked to death by fans of Jay Leno after missing his tonight show". Watermelon anyone?

  • hell i know good comedy, i love cynical comedy. this is cynical, with a pinch of "if i scream louder, i'll sound more important!" ... completely negates the effect of cynicism.

  • No, you clearly don't 'know' or understand comedy, because this isn't cynicism, it is deliciously unashamed rage at the mundane and banal convention that you apparently hold so dearly to yourself. His scream is for all of us that understand that it isn't cynicism, but direct raw expression, something you are clearly to progressive and intelligent to appreciate.

  • @joe16fernando You couldn't be anymore off point if you were playin darts bindfolded.

  • @joe16fernando You couldn't be anymore off point if you were playin darts blindfolded.

  • Pure genius. And if you don't like it you simply don't get it or understand the point he's making. Bill Hicks is a LEGEND and I personally think this is one of his funniest - R.I.P. matey

  • LOL "I AM AVAILABLE FOR CHILDRENS PARTIES BY THE WAY" love him.

  • He is a fucking genius, you are probably just pissed of at him for tearing apart your morals of life i.e. religion and pissing all over them.

  • 'Shut up and listen to him play!'

  • this sketch wouldn't be nearly as memorable without the passion displayed through his screaming. and the Hitler chants just symbolise his hatred for sissy groups like the new kids on the block. and the freaky sucking motion he does with the mic. is funny cos it relates back to how he says they suck Satan's Cock. This is gold and some people are choosing to not like it. thats so very sad

  • omg the entire time i was like wtf :D and at his last sentence i was cracking up XD

  • He gets so worked up, and then realises it and has to bring himself back in one line.

  • 2. It's true she's sick. But she has wasted her life doing drugs and for some messed reason people thing that's glamorous. Being self destructive or posing as a rogue individual doesn't put you automatically out of the mainstream. Actually, nowadays her pose is such common that is lame. Like people full with tattoos or David Beckham selling underwear. F***ing nuts!

  • I guess this was posted by an Amy fan.

1.She inspires only teenagers with a longing for shaking their booty. I think he was talking about real musicians the kind that you when you listen to them you are a different person somehow, the kind that ROCK!!!!

  • Etatdesiege1979; I guess this was posted by someone who has never even listened to Amy. Trust me, she isn't just some "pop princess", she sings from her heart, she's like a modern day Billie Holiday, she has an amazing voice and is so soulful. Her music really touches me, as cheesy as that sounds, it's true. Try "Me and Mr Jones", "You sent me flying", "Tears dry on their own" and "Round midnight"

  • He's almost funny... Then I remember screaming isn't funny.

  • it wasnt necessarily supposed to be funny. this is the more serious/passionate bit of the show.

And c'mon, "I am available for childrens parties by the way" after doing all that is pretty damn funny

  • His screaming represents the collective screams of frustration from all those with a shred of intellect and absolutely sick to the bone of propagators of banality and mediocrity like yourself. The man was a genius and a poet able to communicate things beyond your very limited level of comprehension.

  • I know an intelligent man when I hear one, if I know only one thing, it is that. His acting and comparisons can be extreme but you miss the point - it is the expression of a true personal frustration and longing to provoke the human race into activity - where other comedians say similar things because it is what they think we want to hear, Bill Hicks screams from the bottom of his heart and it is moving. Let me remind you - I am English and have no tolerance for 'wet' humour, this is special.

  • I don't know if Bill Hicks is smart. I don't get that vibe from his low brow comedy. He does seem to know how to yell though. I often think, what would it be like if we all 'expressed our true personal frustration' in such a personly demeaning and quite humorless way. Probably nothing good. Why is it moving though? I don't get that. I see a man making a fool of himself. Also, I'm not in any way disagreeing with any of his views in this movie. I just don't think he should be a comidian.

  • Besides, if you have looked into his material you'd know that he hardly ever shouts like he does in this video. And, the "making a fool of himself" isn't fair at all. ALL comedians if you decide to look at it that way, make total fools of themselves on stage heck isn't that the basis of comedy from ancient greek plays even? Witness george carlin talking about "pussy farts".. If you were a humourless twat you could see that and go "oh he's making a fool of himself" but luckily, most of us aren't.

  • I have watched alot of bill hicks stuff. His early bits were okay, but once he got really big his act went to hell. I don't think good comidians make fools of themselfs. Take Mich Hedberg for example, he never did any thing as embarassing as that.

  • hahahahahahahahhahahahahahahaha..

you just don't know truth when its being performed or told infront of you do you.

    ::burp::

  • Swearing is actually a good way to let off steam without keeping it in... plus, you can be a literate intellectual and still swear.

    Cunt, shite, bollocks, wank.

    See? :)

  • why can't i give u a plus?

  • How can you call his comedy lowbrow and then turn around and say he is preaching to a crowd of "intellects"? Do you see what i am getting at here? Check the meaning of lowbrow- you just contradicted yourself. His audience of intellectuals ALREADY means that his comedy isn't lowbrow as the very meaning of that word is "not intellectual"... so does it make much sense to call a comedian's material "lowbrow" when his audience is mostly made up of (what you determined to be) intellectuals?

  • hi, i am really bored atm and started reading these comments. I just wanna say, yours are the best.

  • Hey, thanks. It's only because the people i'm arguing with are either uneducated malcontents or bitter, aging women with a narrow minded taste in music who wouldn't be discussing Amy Winehouse if they were getting any.

  • Brilliant

  • SCREW OFF!!! It's probably the people you listen to that he is talking about. If only you realized the concept of what he was saying.

  • dang guy, what if they played from their spleen, or someoneelses heart?

    you dont have to shout

  • Such irony...

  • Whatever, i think Amy Winehouse rocks, and Bill Hicks has wise words... ; )

  • Amy Winehouse is still a anal whore of the media industry. Everyone who sells shit in through newspapers are anal whores. Bill Hicks rules by the way.

  • Some really smart opinions on here yeah, the fact that they get thumbs up is indicative of the average level of intellect here. Amy Winehouse is a victim of the media industry not a whore, she sells as she has an incredible voice. She has true heart felt passion in her music. Bill Hicks would have hated you.

  • Shut up, Bill would have hated you, You like those crappy untalented jerks that rule the media today. You would be a Michael Bolton-fan if you where 10 years older, retard!

  • Amy Winehouse can use her voice well, that is the opinion held by most musicians - irrespective of the industry - myself included. That is a talent, she is the only one I expressed any admiration for. I know who Michael Bolton is and I don't like him. Don't put words in my mouth. If you were ten years older maybe you would be able to express yourself without loosing your temper or using words like 'retard'.

  • Whinehouse is the type of plagiarizing mediocrity Hicks decried.

  • Great bit, but Amy Winehouse sucks ass.

  • he was great at making audiences uncomfortable, which is funny to me,and of course his point doesnt apply to the crackhead amy,he died when she was like 6yrs old

  • but amy winehouse does drugs and she is TERRIBLE, so bill's point does not apply.

  • bad point of view for me;]

he's saying that if someone has talent and drugs help him... he should, and if u die in a good moment u become a legend.

  • Just because an artist uses drugs doesn't justify that they make good music, i.e. Amy Winehouse.

  • RAY BONES Which also means when I speak, I'm speakin' for Jimmy. So e.g. as of now, you start affording me the proper respect. CHILI 'e.g.' means 'for example', Ray. I think what you wanna say is 'i.e.' RAY BONES Bullsh*t. E.g. is short for 'ergo'. CHILI Ask your man here. Ray Bones looks at the Black Guy. BLACK GUY Best a my knowledge, e.g. means 'for example.' RAY BONES E.g., i.e., f*ck you. The point is, I say jump, you say okay. Okay?
  • i miss bill hicks and mitch hedburg soooo much :( absolute legends

  • george. i miss him most.

  • he makes a good point, its all passion.

  • MASSIVE

  • LOLOLOL!!!

  • yes man hows things. you and the golden god Bill Hicks. have the same comic words.

  • That's great, but Bill was talking about ARTISTS, musical rebels! Not about mediocre pop singers...

  • well, that's your crappy opinion

  • whoever put bill hicks combined with amy winehouse should be licked (not with a tongue, with a belt)

  • Dont eve put Bill HIcks and Amy Winerhouse together in the same sentence, stupid ass...this has nothing to do with Amy....and this was the 90's believe me Bill was'nt talking about musicians on fucking Crack you loser.

  • Yeah, he was! Why would he be hunkey dorey about a musician blowing his head off, but not one who does crack? Why would he be cool with heroin users over crack users? YOU'RE A MORON!

  • This is nothing to do with Amy Winehouse, he had passed away before she even came on the scene.

  • Wow, no shit, sherlock! Of course he isn't *DIRECTLY* referring to amy winehouse, but it does pertain to the controversy over amy winehouse being a crack head--> which is ---> "who gives a shit?". He's pretty much saying that he'd rather listen to an ugly, fucked up, suicidal, drug addict over a clean-cut celebrity "musician" who has no talent. It's called critical thinking, try using it every once and a while, dumb shit.

  • Amy Winehouse is an "ugly, fucked up, suicidal, drug addicts" and still has no talent.

    Best of both worlds.

  • whatever, I'd like to see you sing like that, she has an amazing voice

  • First off, either learn basic English grammar or remember to include a '(sic)' if you are going to intentionally misquote. Second, Amy Winehouse is easily one of the best singers of the younger generation and I would love to hear what you consider to be good music. You are a dullard like the rest of them.

  • First off, "(sic)" isn't used in quotes.

Second, it wasn't a misquote. If you'd read the comments, that's exactly what someone else said, right down to the shit grammar.

Third, the 'younger generation' mostly sucks now anyway. So she's the best of a bunch of mediocre "musicians". Good for her.

What do I consider good music?

Jazz, Frank Zappa, Progressive Rock, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen.

I'd love to chat music with you, but you're a Winehouse fan and don't know shit, so no thanks

  • Yes it is. And quote isn't a noun, only a verb. You use (sic) if you cite someone and the original spelling was incorrect and you have left it unchanged for accuracy, so it still stands. I never called myself a Winehouse fan so don't label me thanks, I just know a good voice when I hear one. Your list is generic and unimaginative, of course they are good musicians but its like saying 'water is good'. How about introducing us to something new that is worth listening to.

  • (sic) isn't used specifically for labeling quotes. Yes, it is used to show spelling/grammar mistakes, but I don't care about that.

I never said I had bad music so don't label me thanks.

I just listed shit you'd have heard of. Could I list music that isn't "generic and unimaginative"? Sure. Am I here to give you recommendations? No.

Oh, and your last "point" makes no sense. They're "good musicians", but not worth listening to.

Further, why would I listen to musicians who "aren't good"?

  • Wow, aren't you up your own ass. Funny, most of the people I know who listen to prog rock are. Now I don't agree with Anth down there (although I do listen to a bit of A.W.), but that doesn't mean you have to be condescending.

  • Fuck he yells too much.

  • Watch his other stuff.
