The sound you're speaking of is the track skipping. I love this song. I hope its on the next album because it rocks. Has a sweet solo and killer lyrics. Can't stress how cool this solo is.
anyway this song is Todd Rundgren's and was only used as an intro to november rain a few times back in '93, so I think the chances this is goin' to make it to a record are very little.
GNR really was more humble of an act than people give them credit for. Axl Rose's antics sort of overshadowed some of the true art that was being performed. This was big.
It seems that all the Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters who called them Guns N' Posers weren't down on the LA scene in the late 70s when Led Zeppelin was stealing the lion's share of their catalog from Mississippi Delta Blues musicians without giving them any credit.

this is a todd rundgren song.guns do a good version tho.This is often mistaken with kansas dust in the wind.
