It was divided into two separate parts, levels where you controlled a character from the past who's in the midst of an invasion from hell where all the combat/scares took place, and the part where the main character dicks about a mansion in the present day. This was in that quiet part of the game where nothing happens at all, you're just searching every room and item for clues and you feel safe. Then you check the bath...

This part didn't scare me, but I think that's because I had heard about something scary happening when you check the bathtub, so I was expecting something to happen. This scene was also highly hyped so I was expecting something much freakier to happen.

This is exactly like in The Clock Tower for SNES, where you go over to the sink and press action and all of a sudden the entire screen is filled with a gruesome image of your hands in the sink with blood aaaall over them, with a creepy string section, only for about a second. Scary shit.

Crazy enough I go into a shut down mode of not caring anytime I notice a video clip kick in for "scary" games, this really did nothing for me when I played the first time in fact I've noticed that unless it's 1st person then I don't even get creeped out. This was definitely the scariest gaming moment that I have ever experienced. Think about it. There's so many action buttons that you can press in this game to investigate things. Examine a statue. Look into a telescope. Things of that nature. So we walk into a relatively harmless bathroom. Cool. See a tub. Silicon Knights have said they really want to make a sequel and that it probably won't be a direct sequel to this game but a completely different story set in the same universe.

Apparantly- Because of the way the zoom is three different images instead of a clean zoom, the brain doesn't actually have time to realize what it's just seen. Then the scream sound hits, and all of the information tumbles in at once.
