I'm a beginner and I'm a guy, so I'm leading. I've learned a dozen or moves, and adding more quickly. i find myself moving from one move to the next, almost constantly. Should ther be some rhythm or pattern to my dancing....such as 3 or 4 moves, and then a few basic steps? Also, I spend more time thinking about my steps, and don't have a lot of animation, or bounce in my step. Having a hard time loosening up. Any suggestions?

You guys are doing a very good job , that is the way to learn how to dance ,from the very basic.the lessons are very well explained and demonstrated in a way that are clear to anyone and that is the only way to do it !You don't start to build a house starting from the roof ,but you start with the foundations .To those who think they know it all please keep your negative comments to yourself .

In my humble opinion I don't understand why the negative comments. The fact is this is youtube, not some fancy dance school and these are quick learn moves for those who DONT want to be professional dancers JUST FOR FUN!! otherwise obviously we would hire a professional dance coach/instructor. May I remind you this is FREE, why be so demanding, ungrateful and mean?

I thought that the other Expert Village videos were horrible.....but this one is the worst yet. As a professional dance instructor, I was able to point out 15 things that were technically unsound about this video and I stopped counting before the end. This is just unbearably terrible!

GRRR when he switched to triples he was doing a chassé. triples doesn't mean you do that, it means you step 3 times in the span of 2 beats grrrr!!!

think about it this way, when you do your triple steps you travel in the same direction as your feet. so for instance after the rock step you would mover left with the first triple and then back to the right with the second. Triple steps in swing are supposed to be made in place unless you're traveling and then you still don't Chasse. to sum it up, think about the motion of a crab.
