loved everything about the movie, the animation and sound are especially gorgeous... sometimes it gets even weirder then serial experiments lain though...
move over baby einstein...this is my 10 month olds favorite movie...she cant get enough of it but I dont mind. Its genius and the music is just amazing...
It makes sense, but it REALLY helps to watch it more than one time. Just like a novel with a great deal of symbolism, you catch alot more the 2nd or 3rd time through.
not so scary... it's a bit WEIRD at parts (refering to the part with mr. pervert and paprika when she is in his lab pinned down to table) if anyone knows what I MEAN...>_> Aside from odd parts it's good.^^
Yea when I saw this, I thought, Paranoia agaent remake? I didn't know this show is from the makers of Paranoia Agent. But I guess it was obvious due the fact that both songs have no point really it seems. ^_^ But is she a ghost or something. How does she do that?
are there like 2 diff versions of paprika? in this video, the guy skating in 01:32 wears a white t-shirt while the one by kainotachi ( pls search for "Papraki opening credits kainotachi" n compare) wears black in 01:23! n there r other differences too. anyway matt where did u get this video?
i downloaded it >.< I would love to see this one in theatre though, but I probably won't have the chance.. I live in Holland and they don't really show interest in anime movies :(
yea i have to agree it was such a good movie with no story really... but i guess the point was that it was more thematic rather than plot oriented :). anyway all of kons movies are amazing, I have to say Paranoia Agent is my fav thing he's ever done though.
I saw it on Jun 21st in downtown Toronto. It was playing for only 1 week in ONE theatre. T_T; It's a pitty it's not advertized more widely. I've seen all of Director Kon's other movies and thought this was his best. The opening credits is one of my favourite sequences, along with any sequence to do with the crazy parade and butterflies. Love the music too. Aside from Paprika, I liked Inspector Konakawa. He was played by one of my favourite voice actors, Ohtsuka Akio. ^^
this looks so good! the animation just blows me away! it's breathtaking! i can't believe the techniques their using! i don't know where my eyes shouold look next! it's incredible! (i'm an anime-obsessed-arists-who's happified-that-japan-made an anime that I can rubb anime critics faces in ^__^) i'm so happy about this movie! i have to go watch this vid again! any idea when it'll come out on DVD... cause i don't live in new york...
The song is called "Meditational Field". You could go to milanrecords dot com forwardslash paprika forwardslash to listem to a sample of the song. Also the song "The Girl in Byakkoya - White Tiger Field" is the counterpart of "Meditational Field". It pretty good too if you listen to it. Hope this helps! ^_^

Btw I just notice the girl in the red shirt who hops one place to another is the same girl from Paranoia Agent. The one who had like 3 personalities.

The song is called "The girl in byakkoya" theres a version of it with lyrics. It's mainly about intoxicationa nd manslaughter.

The movie is about a device which allows people to enter their own and other's dreams. So she isn't a ghost ... she's inside of a dream.
