actually, if you listen to the commentary on the episode, the writer says it wasn't meant as a slam to Friends, it was just that he needed a reason to get the guys into a coffee shop where the girl worked.

Was there talk of them taking this show off the air or something? It was my understanding that it (like many other shows) was just stopped because of the writers striking! Do you all know something else?

well, CBS hadn't picked it up again for another season (yet) and it just switched to 8:30, which means Big Bang Theory (a brand new show) is now the lead-in for HIMYM, not necessarily a good sign...though I think it will be picked up again, especially now that they're trying to get big-names (ahem, Britney...)

This show is MUCH better than Friends...you really need to see full episodes because honestly, these excerpts do it no justice! You sort of need to understand them in context of the story and the who the characters are! Try to watch a few full episodes! It really is the funniest show ever!

i absolutely LOVE himym, the fact that they can be consistantly funny stands for it self, not to mention the great characters, and the actors that play them are superb... how i met your mother is by far my favourite show of me and all my friends, i would cry if it were to cease production. the small things that they add i love greatly, they hide small things in episodes that set them up for episodes later in the series or season, it is greatly thought out and alot of time is put into it.
